Democracy’s just a word when profit margins are on the line
Arbenz learnt the lesson of the corporate’s grand design
Torrijos and Roldos fought, and then came crashing down to earth
The deposition of Mossadegh aborted freedoms birth
Lumumba in the Congo through to Aristide in Haiti
The Gulf War waged to discipline, not freedom for Kuwaiti’s
Allende’s story finished with a full stop marked in lead
Indonesia’s red star left almost a million dead
Chavez knows the wrath that comes from caring for your people
Golds disciples moved to boardrooms once they vacated the steeples
The wolves are in the pasture, and the jackals roam the land
Countries bleed and suffer for the Stock Markets demands
The unholy birth of terror through a marriage of money and state
Real freedom’s just a dream within this world that they create
The Emperor’s power is absolute, this effigy of gold
We play this game of free choice as we all wait to be sold

Chavez

I enjoyed your line on Chavez. He is a man that I admire in many aspects. He has withstood CIA assassination attempts, a coup d'e tat by U.S. paid operatives, he has been maligned by the American press, as well as the press of other Latin American countries that are on the U.S. payroll, and now in a battle with cancer. He is resilient, and he is resilient because of the love that his people have for him. He has revamped the educational system in Venezuela, and established a universal health care system in which care is provided for all. These are two things that this country should be taking notes on, but instead it has been relentlessly trying to take him out of power, and grab Venezuelan oil for practically nothing. Sounds kind of familiar; doesn't it? I wish Hugo Chavez the best in his battle and hopeful recovery from cancer, so that he can proceed with his plans of continued improvement for his country, by means of fair wages, fair and quality housing, and other social programs. His quest for an egalitarian society within his country is not something to criticize. Those in this country who are critical of him, need to look around at our own crumbling system, prior to hurling insults and critique.

Just as Rome, this empire is on its last flailing attempts to show power, but power with no economic reserves or backing. As one studies history, one sees the inescapable cycles, (Persia, Greece, Rome, Great Britain) and the cold indifferent observation by the other international powers that be. They wait, they look on, watching us fade into the horizon of history.
