New alex grey art gives me mixed feelings.

IcerocketAlex grey is my favorite artist. I am obsessed with his work. You can imagine that I would take him very seriously. I saw this awhile ago, and at first it made me excited. Just like obama made everyone excited at first, you know before he picked his cabinet. At the very beginning we were all high off of "we will get out of Iraq immediately" and false promises of stopping nafta and the Security and Prosperity partnership. But I think that we have to be political atheists in america. Politicians are in bed with the corporations and they barely hide it.
I think the messiah depiction of obama his completely laughable. It felt like I had a prank pulled on me when I saw all the crap obama went back on. There is barely a difference with these guys. Bush one sucked right, then clinton and gore get in, and they made it so all the corporations and banks were able to get away with all this looting. And! Democrats don't start wars, they smart bomb at night and tell us when its over. Clinton started the economic sanctions and bombing of Iraq, so everyone all both sides of the party lines wanted that war. And then he gets a bj so we can get bush's spawn. so obviously were not getting anywhere with this system.
And a big mind like alex grey should know that, alex grey should at least be mad at obama for continuing the drug war! because I know he has used illegal substances before and is advocate for legalization! I want an alternative picture Mr. Grey, give me a picture depicting obama's true nature being, influenced by those around him and being deceptive with his followers. And the title of the work, Anatomy of a world leader will makes anyone swoon over this false promise.

I also have mixed feelings about Obama-mania, but at the same time it's hard not to feel at least a little comfort on the world scene in contrast to George W. Bush and other cronies. I will differ to those who look towards politicians as the solutions and don't realize that they are still trapped inside of the game of politics with all of the corruption etc. But for some reason I still want to give Obama the benefit of the doubt, he at least seems like a reasonable human vs. a corrupt scumbag. And I think that is one interpretation of this art-piece. Obama represents hope for the world due to a break with the past if for no other reason than the symbolic nature of his election and how it looks to people in other countries.
Don't be naive politicians are always going to be part of the establishment, those that challenge it too hard usually find themselves out of a job in one way or another. If you want to change things there are many other ways to do it. Obama represents breathing room, and anyone who becomes too complacent because we have a democratic president will find themselves sorely disillusioned. Change comes from altering our interactions and sharing ideas and activities with each other not from the top down. At least change that is meaningful to people.
