Does anyone actually believe they're contacting aliens in their heads...

...and not wonder if they're crazy?
I get the whole UFO phenomenon. Maybe there are aliens lurking about. If there were, I don't expect the government would be up front about it nor would I expect visiting aliens to want the attention of the entire planet.
But individuals talking about psychically communicating with aliens...eh.
I recently attended a guru's informal talk in a california park this summer. I have a lot of respect for this particular and for the friends of mine who are his devotees. But when he started talking about the alien races that built India, and how he's currently creating a new species of human, I cringe inwardly. One guy even stood up with a piece of paper saying it was a Charter he had channel from aliens who commanded him to build a new civilization. And everyone just sort of nodded!
I wonder if these people are just lonely with unmet life expectations and vent them through some sort of messiah complex that requires them to be the founder of a new way of life and living
It's just so new agey I want to vomit. Weird stuff goes on in our consciousness, I get it. Is it possible aliens are psychically evolved to the point in which they could establish psychic links? Sure, why not. Is it likely they're contacting randos who are in a position to do literally nothing about it and passing on commands to rebuild the human race? Eh...

Probing the depths of...
Skepticism is healthy in doses, but denial is dangerous. We are dealing with human consciousness, which is not well understood and has very hazy barriers between the realms of Delusion, Lies, Eccentricity, psychosis and paranormal perception.
For a long time I only wanted to hear about UFOs as a hard technological object understood as some kind of device. IE - a vehicle or ship that just uses physical forces we don't know how to manipulate yet - but could with time. It's a much more comforting fact to talk technology. basically we're dealing with creatures like ourselves, something we can eventually comprehend.
However, as our understanding of quantum physics and multi-dimensionality is explored further our definition "alien". What if there is a psychic world we inhabit but are blind to? And if such a creature made mind-to-mind contact, would we really understand the messages? A context-less message is a close to psychotic as you can get. My friends and I in college did a lot of RPG, and we would carry our outlandish conversations with us to our local restaurants after our meetings. I pity anyone listening in without our shared context. If they repeated the contents of those conversations it would sound crazy!
I agree - there is a lot of untreated schizoid behavior out there,a lot of lonely eccentrics desperate for attention, there are a lot of people who get caught up in the moment and will blurt out something fantastic to fit in. This is not to mention the out-right liars and con men too.
Always take a step back and ask - are they just sharing their experience - something unique and personal - or are they trying to sell me something?

I would venture to say... NO!!!
Alien among us??!!... it seems so treasure hunt to me... but hey I don't have any proof so that is that...
Those ppls that you mention talking about rebuilding the human race, etc, etc... it's just a regurgitation of the Christians Armageddon mix in with the UFO phenomenon...

ET Contact
I'd be dubious if folks are relaying those kinds of messages. That said, there are some great books allegedly dictated by the "good ETs" including: Songs Of The Arcturians and lotsa Pleiadian stff.
Lisette Larkins talks to ETs and has a series of books on how to begin working with them and eventually receive telepathic 'coaching'
normally i dont touch this
normally i dont touch this level of skepticism- after all, blind skepticism is as erronious as blind belief, and can be as equally dogmatic.
that said, i will say quite emphatically
not everything can be deduced and understood by logical speculation.
but... there are things out there in the universe that are beyond logical deduction... beyond in that they have to be felt, experienced, and lived to be understood. your soul is multidimensional. if you call something an alien you are proclaiming seperateness. if you accept your soul is beyond your simple logical brain then great things will happen

I'm an alien and if anyone
I'm an alien and if anyone wants the blueprints for starting this new civilization contact me through dodecahedron resonance, eye to eye tooth to tooth.

well said!

What's an alien?
I remember hearing a Terrence McKenna lecture about aliens on the Psychedelic Salon podcast. His point is that encounters with strange beings are always interpreted through a cultural lens. So, the same experience might be interpreted by a modern American as an alien; by a medieval European as an angel or elf; by an Indian as a Hindu goddess, etc. "They" always come from "out there," which may be outer space, heaven, the forest, the mountains, or the desert, depending on when and where you live.
Having said that, I'm skeptical. Sorry, just am.
I have had contact with
I have had contact with other beings while on DMT. Now these could be reflections of myself or my ego fighting the DMT or perhaps it could be aliens from another planet after the DMT Transported me through a star gate in my head to the other side of the galaxy. My favorite at the moment is that theses beings are native to this planet and just live in a dimension we can only access through DMT or other psychoactive plants and compounds.
I have learned much from these beings and they have helped speed up my spiritual awakening. But these beings do not talk to me as such. They communicate telepathically so much information that it is hard to take it all in. I am still processing the information months later after a 5 min DMT trip. I am still undecided on what these beings are but I am grateful for the what they have shown me and the direction they have pointed me in my research and my life.
Now on the other side of things I have a real big problem with " The great white brotherhood" and all this talk of a humanoid alien federation that are keeping themselves hidden from us until the time is right and they will come down in there ships to save us all with love and light. If this is true it sounds like an even bigger system of power and control than the ones we have on Earth at the moment.
I do not think these are just made up stories though. What about the possibility that these people are receiving these messages . But they are not from aliens but some type of secret technology that can put words and ideas into peoples heads, being used by people within the control system. Distracting people on a spiritual path from finding there full potential in themselves and instead are looking into the skies for ships to save the world. It also brings a lot of conflict and disagreement within the spiritual community and could scare main stream people from researching this area and waking up.
mind over matter
Mckenna once said about DMT "you can become the alien"
I like to think that they are just a part of a great sub or superconsciousness. They may exist in realms of their own or be a part of "us" that is so alien to "us" that it takes on an alien archetype.
I once took mushrooms and fell asleep. My phone woke me up from a "dream" where I was on a multi-colored plane conversing 1-on-1 with a grey alien being.
I've seen greys as well as cartoon-like beings with clothing on DMT.
On a high dose of LSD on the Cosmic Convergence, a circle of shadowy aliens began materializing around me. I used the reasoning "you are me" to make them go away.
