I Think I’m Dying, But It’s Okay
Bill Kennedy

[The Ayahuasca Monologues] • The guardians said I needed to be in the energy of the circle. They gave me an ultimatum -- I could go back to my room and suffer for the next four hours or I could come back to the circle for healing. I realized my choices were to die in the basement watching a baseball game or to die next to my best friend in a healing ceremony. I went back to the circle.

Nugget's Triumph

[Burning Briefs] • In this video, playa newbie Bill Kennedy is cynical about the purported magic of the Burning Man Festival, but a synchronistic run-in on Fate St., "a heroic dose of mushrooms," a dance with Rosario Dawson, and the improbable triumph of veteran Burner Nugget change his mind.

Party with A Plan in Philly

Have you heard about The Philadelphia Experiment? No, not that twisted bit of occult paranoia involving extraterrestrials, space-time teleportation, and the US Navy. This Philadelphia Experiment is an arts collective that has embraced the community and philosophy of Burning Man, and has launched an inspired new scene in the City of Brotherly Love.

"Banish the word 'struggle' from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we have been waiting for." — Hopi elders

About Me

Bio

I live in a communal living space in Brooklyn with 16 or so peoples of various perspectives (still able to keep my own). I enjoy writing, telling stories, acting, carpentry, bartending, playing dumb and laughing a lot. I'm 26, from St. Louis, and have been in NY near 3 years now. Family is very important, but that doesn't mean "family" always exists in the traditional way. Family can also mean your good friends. It's more about having a strong support system of people you can trust implicitly. It's the people you feel safe with who provide a longstanding measure of love and acceptance that is equal to a family environment. I remember after I got caught stealing my dad's car and getting it stuck in a mud field, and reporting it stolen, and being 15, the police officer, who was my D.A.R.E. officer, told me "you are who your friends are" (so get new friends). I didn't. I'm very close to my "family", but my family is much bigger and I'm grateful every moment of my life for all of you. Your smiles are the inspiration to my every action. Since being in NY my family seems to have exploded with smiles. Maybe Officer Joe was right, I am you and you are me. Hey, I got the key's to this car. Wanna go for a ride?
