It's difficult to understand how such world organizations have made it such a long time without bringing this debate to a full blown public forum. Decades. Obviously we know how this has been 'over-sighted,' but it's unsettling that our people have not MADE IT HAPPEN. One would have hoped that humanity would have had the drive to force it into the agenda directly after the Roswell incident, but no, we couldn't make it happen then and still have not after millions more 'incidents.' A fact of the matter is that Roswell wasn't even the first mass experience of 'other' life. The 1917 Fatima event and countless other dimensional interactions have been occurring throughout what we call time.
The power of 'Member states' of the UN does not have the greatest interest in acknowledging powers beyond their own, so the state of the environment makes plenty of sense. Notice I say their power doesn't have the interest. THEY, WE, DO have interest because it is our very core understanding of the nature of technology and the infinite multi-verse. Luckily, the very last question asked in this conference is actually provocative. Most of the comments are quite ignorant and redundant, but hey, multiple European news sources called Mazlan Othman 'the appointed ambassador for contact with alien life' so it's understandable why some of these reporters are repetitive.
So far discussions ARE being had in regards to 'traffic' in space, space junk, meteors and other other logistical areas, not the most serious areas. My read on the scene is, one, that any person on the planet not studying the 'disclosure movement' or 'truth movement' or 'UFO phenomenon' should absolutely not be in a position of power, and two, that those who are currently blocking the discussions from being had need to be relieved of their duties. We need our leaders to be questioning, researching and communicating this information moreso than anyone else. EVERY member of the UN, every politician, every major media representative, this is our duty to unveil the reality of our reality.
Let's continue to put pressure on every political organization to address these issues. Attend the conferences, correspond with the groups, ask the tough questions, record it. Peace and thanks.

No one get's elected for dedication to UFOlogy
Sad, but true. People get elected because they promise to fix pot-holes and have the train run on time. They seldom get that right either. No one goes into politics so they can lead in first contact events with inter-dimensional/ extra-terrestrial aliens, that sort of just blows up on your watch.
It's hard enough to get people to vote for the least corrupt, most professional, most common sense, most educated politician - or hell, vote at all.
