Let's have some Q & A with The Venus Project, shall we? This is taken straight from their web site, with comments from yours truly:

Q: "By the way, what do you think about the New World Civilization?"

A:"I must emphasize that the approach to global governance *I ADVOCATE* has nothing whatever in common with the aims of an elite to form a world government with themselves and large corporations in control, with the vast majority of the population subservient to them. My vision of globalization empowers each person to be the best they can be, and to not live in subjugation to a corporate governing body." (Emphasis added.)

*Whew, I'm sure glad they cleared that up! What a relief. Now I can have total trust and faith in The Venus Project. (Not.)

Q: "Will there be a government?"

A: "As to the need for government, only during the transition from a monetary based society to a cybernated high-technological resource based economy of common heritage would it be necessary to utilize the services of systems analysts, engineers, computer programmers, etc. They will not dictate the policies or have any more advantage than other people. Their job will be to carry out the restoration of the environment to near natural conditions as possible on land and in the sea. They will also economically layout the most efficient way to manage transportation, agriculture, city planning, and production. This too is always in the process of modification and updating to fit the needs of an ever-changing civilization. There are no final frontiers."

*Oh, I see. So the government is going to help us transition into to a world without government... so, in other words, the ruling elite are going to happily overthrow themselves... ? Ummm.... that doesn't make any sense.

Q: "What is the role of Cybernation as Decision Makers?"

A: "When computers eventually have sensors extended into all areas of the physical AND SOCIAL complex, we will be able to achieve centralization of decision-making. In a global resource-based economy, decisions would not be based on local politics but on a holistic problem solving approach." (Emphasis added.)

"The major difference between today's computer technology and the system we recommend is that our system extends its autonomic nervous system (environmental sensors) into all areas relevant to the social complex."

"Computers and artificial intelligence will serve as catalysts for change. They will establish scientific scales of performance. It is doubtful that in the latter part of the twenty-first century people will play any significant role in decision-making. Eventually, the installation of AI and machine decision-making will manage all resources serving the common good."

*For the common good, huh? Yeah, where have we heard that before? This sounds like another system of control to me, the scariest the world has ever seen. I mean, could you possibly be any more creepy?

"Seek not abroad, turn back into thyself, for in the inner man dwells the truth..."

Your perception is your reality

Taken in context and not chopped into single lines, your commentary on these things shows lack of research, lack of understanding and lacks any supporting structure other than your own opinions, which you allow to project a theory that doesn't hold up against peer reviewed criticism.

In other words, lacking a scientific approach It would seem to me that you object to any information in contradiction of your own theory, and leave it out of context or reject it entirely to sway opinion in your favor.

The governments of the world today will not "WILL NOT" give up their power willingly. The Governments themselves exist not as all powerful independent entities they exist soley on the will of the people. The People are the government, they are the ones who abdicate their power and responsibility by accepting the ideas of corporate sovereignty. It is because we collectively believe in the system as it exists today, that it exists at all. Without the people there is now government. That said the purpose of TVP and ZM are to show humanity as a whole that another world is possible, if the entire planet were to be raised in an era of these principles the system as it exists today would simply fade into history. Without conflicting bodies, religions, political agendas, greed and desire for lack of the basic necessities of life the human being has no need of war, no need for violence against his fellow man or his enviroment. The only purpose of Gov't ideally would be to "protect the land base for its' people" this simply cannot happen in a system where money created in debt exists no matter what type of "-ism " that culture subscribes to.

Note that the ZM does not advocate any governance whatsoever, it lacks a profit and gains monetary system, it does not take a capitalistic approach towards the enviroment or humans, thus freeing humans from "wage slavery" and freeing nature and the planet from providing for the strains of human overpopulation. It's a return to balance using technologies currently available (and currently available only to the worlds elite or being suppressed by them) by making this tech available to everyone. With laws designed out of existence and a common ownership over the entire system, what is left to govern? There is no hoarding of resources, there is no have and have not's. This is not any type of "ism" or "cracy"(capitalism, socialism, theocracy, democracy) this is an "tion" as in evolution, and something new for man. However this system exists now in nature and if we simply look at any other species on the planet they already live this way. In TVP the cities and populated centers reflect what a tree does in nature. It does not overgrow the nutrients and resources available to it, it works in cooperation with the mycellium, the bacterium and micro organisms that support its nutrient uptake and the animals and insects native to it's enviroment and soil structure. It returns this to it's enviroment through providing food, shelter, protection through the prevention of soil erosion and depending on the species a laundry list of symbiotic benefits. The trees' have no government, they have no law, they simply are and they exist in harmony with all around them. The resource based economy does not allow humans to outgrow the resources available to them, it does not allow for the over consumption factor, it does not allow for anything to even be designed or used that isn't built sustainably and in harmony with the enviroment unless critical to our survival. The advance of technology is not for us to fear, it is for us to consciously embrace and design love and compassion into, what could be more compassionate than technology that free's the human from the wheel of wage slavery allowing MAN or WOMAN to spend their lives pursuing their passions and chasing curiosity? It's not subservient slavery to a machine collective or terminator scenerio, it's actually in all respects turning machines and AI into slaves for living beings in a way, by handing over all "land base" decision making to them and allowing them to perform the functions of supply and demand in a sustainable fasion. This is not a perfect system but as TVP and ZM attest to "It's simply better then our current one" I see a world government or it's opposite "a global consensus towards the ZM ethos" as inevitable at this point. Culture as it exists today is unsustainable and leading us towards our own destruction. We simply cannot continue in this way, in one way this system will be forced to a breaking point. In every way this is the peak of culture this time right now, this is it. The collapse may be inevitable already, when it comes.... what dear BOADIE do you propose we fill the vacuum with? What is your solution since you seem so critical of ours? What do you propose? A return to tribalism? a moneyless barter system?
