Non-Compliant, Self-Sufficient Living: MOVING Forward

OK everybody, I have an idea for an action plan. And it's not even MY idea but one that's already taking shape. It's called the Global Non-Compliance movement, and they do have their own FB pages. It is not an organization or "movement" like TZM or TVP or even ESM. "Non-Compliance" is just a word people use. It's just a loose network of people like ourselves, that's it! It's not a non-profit or for-profit business, and it's not an organization of any kind. There are no spokespeople of any kind. Like I said, it's just a word people use. It means going off the grid, returning to nature, not working for the system or buying from the system, or as little as humanly possible, and reducing your dependence on money as much as humanly possible. We could peacefully bring down the system by not complying with it anymore.

I admit that this movement is small compared to Zeitgeist and others, but it's growing, and it's going to grow more and more as the economy continues to collapse anyway. And these things build. If people around the world start dropping off the grid, soldiers might be inspired to drop their guns and not serve their corporate masters anymore either. Police might be on our side. Geeks might develop their own ways for us to tap into the Internet without spys being able to locate us. Who knows? But I believe that the possibility for a future starts with us moving in the direction of going back to the Earth and off the grid, no longer perpetuating the monetary system.

WE are the ones who make the monetary system work, and therefore WE have the power. It's not about violence, but I'm prepared to think about self-defense if necessary. And you can live a very good, clean life off the grid. Many people do. Internet? Get satellite, first of all. You can easily run a couple of computers with solar panels. So on and so forth. This is what we all need to do, on a worldwide scale. That's what the REAL movement is, in my opinion. And it's a real, grassroots movement, not one that was created by a marketing campaign through films. And it's focused on practical solutions and taking action, not on philosophizing or talking about technology we ourselves could never build, and not foolishly trying to use the system against itself or thinking that change will come through the ballot box.

We also can't wait for the masses to wake up. We need to start taking action ourselves, right now, in whatever ways we can. I have plenty of friends who are already doing this, who are already accomplishing things in terms of getting off the grid. And as the economy gets worse, this option will look more and more attractive to people. Remember that most people care about their lives and not much beyond that. This is a great way to set a positive, good example for others, and perhaps hope for the 100th monkey effect.

So anyway, that's my plea for non-compliance. I'm sure that some will enthusiastically support it, while others will vehemantly oppose it, while others will think about it.

But I want to hear what other people think about this.
