Rather than replacing one another, they are simply all existing at the same time. The control freaks are all vying to dominate the biosphere and set the manifesting agenda of the human race.
We're one meme over the line! ...at least.
I say we shrug off the control castes and set a course on our own for a change.

Perhaps it is the assorted-quality of control freaks which discourages significant change. Definitely, the material issues of food, shelter and culture are under there thumbs.
To overcome this, it might be necessary to step outside one's comfort zone. Step around the corner and see what can be translated into other culture styles around us. Try to learn another's language and find a bridge of understanding more things together.
