"Banish the word 'struggle' from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we have been waiting for." — Hopi elders

About Me

Bio

"Briana Barrett is a local Resilience leader affiliated with the Seattle Transition Movement, SCALLOPS, Sustainable Greenwood-Phinney and, at the most local level, SoZoo. Briana’s experience in Resilience is founded in self-awareness gained through multiple intercontinental emigrations. Each transition demanded that she acquire new language and immerse herself in new culture, all the while integrating personal transformation. She realizes that each experience of 'loss' was an opportunity to enrich the new with the old." ~Karah Pino

.
Basically, I am a 'geek' (aka systems thinker) who has reverse-engineered her life to be socially and spiritually resilient.
.
I'm here to support individuals ready for economical & environmental sustainability. In my experience, both of those goals are positive side-effects of true spiritual and face-to-face social resilience.

Skills and talents
Professionally, I thoroughly enjoy counseling and being a consultant to fellow geeks (and organizations full of geeks) applying their genius to resilience-building. In my free time, I enjoy growing and preparing vegan food, making beautiful conversation with neighbors and passers-by, building hyper-local resilience in SoZoo (a focused research and action project called 'Neighbors On Purpose') ...oh, and I'm a dancing, singing, rhyming, sacred, sensuous performance artist, too!

Work

Employer
Entrepreneur: Inside-Out Sustainable is a local-focal counseling and consulting business. I assist sustainability and spirituality geeks (like myself) in reverse-engineering their lives and organizations (social systems, basically) to be socially and spiritually resilient. The resulting systems are inherently more economically and environmentally response-able.
