"Anarchism, really stands for the liberation of the human mind from the dominion of religion; the liberation of the human body from the dominion of property; liberation from the shackles and restraint of government."
-Emma Goldman
My Liberation from Religion -
The thoughts of religion have, since it's birth from the human mind, enslaved every being it has come in contact with by emulating nature and, in many ways, trying to usurp it. The idea of written forms of spiritual communication between the divine and man has been around since the creation of the printing press. The first book rumored to ever be printed was a Mahayana sutra titled, The Diamond Sutra. This religious text is a perfect example of what we perceive to be true, in the sense of spirituality, or false, in that of structured religion.
The sutra states a dialogue of the nature of perception, in that 'What is called the highest teaching, is not the highest teaching' and that '[We must] unlearn our preconceived notions of the nature of reality and enlightenment.' In this we get a glimpse into the mind of the Buddha, that for us to fully comprehend, we must understand ourselves.
My liberation from the thoughts of religion are now freed by this sutra. I say again, no longer will I be a slave to my 'religion' but a 'friend' to my god. In a way, let us look inward to find the true center of being.
The Liberation of My Body from Property -
The land on which I stand is not mine, it is not owned, it is simply borrowed by my energy, and with each step I am made closer to my creator. The sooner I understand this, the better off I will be. Imagine, if all the landlords and tax collectors woke up tomorrow with an enlightened schema of things. Let us walk freely across the land, respecting each child of the earth as we would our own flesh.
I will liberate my body from property, in that I will not be owned by this world but instead be one with it. My eyes will then see a land of peace and prosperity.
My Liberation from Government -
Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either [aristocracy or monarchy]. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.
-John Adams
I am an indentured slave to my past, please let the reign of democracy leave me. Throughout history many forms of so-called government have been tried. Each and every aspect has given power to a select few. I say we stand up against this always, and in every form of control search for more ways to find truth. We are the leaders of our lives, not those who wish to sell us by saying, 'the masses are like a small child seeking guidance in every aspect of their lives.' Instead, we should be the ones instructing those who do understand the importance of compassion, mediation, and self-reliance. Together we can overcome.
It all boils down to one quotable phrase, 'Our democracy is false, let anarchy reign.'
I am liberated from the shackles of government, let my life be ruled by non other than myself. The same goes for each and every individual piece of the whole.
