really amazing!
I saw it on Saturday, it is not only a trip but definitely has a deeper meaning. It is mainly about the loss of our laces with Nature and the Sacred. The reason our own Planet is a mess today.
For sure a must see.
thanks for the tip
after reading this blog this morning i went and saw Avatar today. i dont watch t.v. or anything and am pretty out of loop and i was completely taken back by the beauty and spirit of this movie. i had no idea, it would turn out to be such an amazing creative movie going experience...and the 3d really made it engaging. i think the world needs to feel the message of this film, it shows that life, love and wisdom come from nature and its divine balance. it also portrays corporate greed and military power as the twisted villain behind the destruction of a beautiful planet and remarkable species. the story line is scary familiar to the oppression, and plain murder of indigenous cultures and the destruction of our own planet that we call home. i highly recommend scraping together the money if you can, and going to watch this movie.
much love.
I kept meaning to say the same thing
I was going to post a blog like this (admittedly,it would not have been so concise, nice job there Caelidh) and say the same thing. It is an amazing film...but it's beyond a film. It's an experience that can only be felt, not conveyed through words.
But it didn't deal with just one issue, it expressed many and did so without being preachy, offensive or aggressive. It covered:
The rape of the planet.
Our connection to nature and each other that lies in jeopardy.
The pointless war in Afghanistan.
Zen philosophy.
Our own Western ignorance.
And many others that you can tell are there but you can't really express unless you see it a few times, to allow it to percolate up to your conscious mind.
The one thing I would add, is that we need to seriously thank James Cameron for bringing Pandora to us after his spirit journey there. He waited for over a decade for the technology to develop in order to convey to us what he saw after that place touched his soul. I can't imagine what carrying that burden around for all that time must have been like. I feel we owe him many thanks. Maybe we should get him a big fruit basket or something. :-P
"Wake Up"
I loved the contrasting scenes in the movie to show the difference between a world of love and a world of corruption and greed.
The one color pallate was bright adn sparkly and magical
The other pallate was cold and dismal.
They kept telling one another to "wake up." i thought it was interesting to hear both sides tell one another to wake up. I think that aided in the contrast.
Yes- for billions of reasons- 3D included- Avatar is my favorite movie I have ever seen!!!!
Love and Light;
Don't give up the fight!
