Evolver and SPAM

I woke up this morning and found over 40 notices from the EVOLVER comment site.. but they were all for some NORTHFACE Glove company... spamming the site...
This is not a new occurance and if Evolver is to continue it BETTER secure it's servers and site better from spammers!
I am NOT happy with this and if the PTB are reading this.. please do something about this issue or I am outta here... There is no excuse in this day and age to have such sloppy open sites. There are things that you can do to prevent spammers from attacking your site.
I am saddened that EVOLVER seems to be weakening as a viable useful interesting tool... from Spammers to disinformation spreaders to egomaniacs.. I no longer trust what I read here..
I know there has been criticism before.. ...are these issues being addressed?
Waking up and having a ton of spam to clean up wastes my time!
Thanks

SPAM situation
Hi Everyone,
First off, thanks for your patience while we deal with the SPAM onslaught that has hit Evolver.net and RS. I'm sorry to everyone who is receiving SPAM in any form. We are working on fixing this and are currently trying out an approach in which comments have to be approved before they are published. We would do this during certain times (such as late at night and over the weekend when there aren't as many of us able to moderate) which will mean there will be a delay in comments getting posted during these times but there will not be the influx of SPAM clogging up the site.
For the record, we HAVE created CAPTCHAs for all new sign-ups for Evolver and RS. What's happening is these accounts are being created by real humans who go through the CAPTCHA and activate the account. As sad as it seems, this must be a job for some people out there...we've tried various fixes but have yet to find the silver bullet that stops this mix of manual account creation and seemingly automatic SPAM spraying.
Hopefully our latest attempts at shifting the tide will be successful. Wish us luck!
Peace,
JP
