Question SHOULD we... or will we not evolve....

I do not partake in entheogen use. I have experimented in college (wayyyy back in the 80's)... but I do not have access or the means to participate in taking sacred medicines or entheogens. However, I DO listen to a TON of podcasts about them ....

There was a post about the acceleration of time and the evolution of the mind... and how it is possibly linked to the use of these substances.

Yet I have also heard from some who "abuse" them .. they either do them too much (eventhough they are not addicting but they feel the more they take.. the more knowledge they aquire) OR they do not respect the substances.

While I would be intrigued to take them.. (whatever is supposed to be in my journey) I do not have the access or means.

Question is.. do folks feel that there is a collective unconscious effect to the community at LARGE?

Some choose NOT to partake.. instead doing OTHER things such as YOGA Meditation etc..

Do folks feel that if one never takes peyote or ayuahsca that they will not accelerate as quickly as those who do.?

Is this pretty much a worn out question anyway? I am just curious as to folks thoughts on this subject.... in light of the acceleration and evolution of human consciousness.....

Access to entheogens is

Access to entheogens is remarkably easy to come by. You can order everything you need online. From Ayahuasca kits to mushroom sub-straights and cacti. If one were truly seeking an experience they could find it. Salvia can be purchased over the counter and almost any smokeshop or you can go down to the local botanical nursery and purchase a salvia plant or coleus or morning glory... Or if your chemistry is better than your gardening you can extract DMT out of grass.

What one of the 7 habits of successful people? They hang out with other successful people. Okay so if you want to have an experience then hang out with people who have experiences...

There are other methods by which you reach altered states which may be more accessible to the common man. Not everybody is going to go out and learn pranayama, but anyone with the means can likely find an establishment which specializes in floatation/sensory deprivation tanks.

I think I recall Terrence putting it best when he said, "I think you CAN make progress spiritually with psychedelics, but not necessarily.....Aldous Huxley said of psychedelics that they are neither necessary nor sufficient for the attaining of salvation. He called them 'gratuitous graces', meaning you're sure glad you have them, but they're neither necessary nor sufficient." --Terence McKenna

I may also contend that if one is self-obsessed with any exterior device with an expectation of salvation. The substance will simply deny access. When I look back at how these substances have come about. From the shamans experience these medicines were cultivated from the earth and fleshed out of the natural world. But in the western society we take in nothing whole. We dissect and devour little bits and pieces of the whole.

In the sixties anyone could get mushrooms if they really wanted them. But I imagine it to a bit of a hassle to go out and find these things. Some things never change. Then look at how LSD is packaged. Almost specifically tailored for the piecemeal consumerist mercantilism of the west.

As a teenager growing up I always smoked pot and even dared to eat few mushrooms. But to have someone hand you 3 or 4 small squares of paper telling you, "yeah that's it" for the first time. Even at the time I was taken back by this not knowing nearly what I do now about everything else in general.

Now all these years later the tide is returning. Not only is more known about these substances but more can be known by a great many more people. We hear about people going to South America and returning with magnificent Ayahuasca tales, but not everyone can just run off to South America and even if you do there's no guarantees unless you can somehow arrange it ahead of time. This sort of experience is hindered by finances and planning. Of course you could order online but even if you do, how do you know if you've done it right without the shaman?

Enter the modern day alchemist of western civilization bringing forth to the species caught in the wave of consumerist values, nnDMT. Enter the 900 lb gorilla in the world of psychedelics and where does a 900 lb gorilla sit? Anywhere it wants. That is to say it doesn't take any shit from the likes of you. However, this gorilla doesn't like to stay long. There are no barriers for him to come into the room and none for him to leave.

Look at how this thing is packaged and tell me it's not been tailored for the west. It comes in a crystalline powder form. The dose is smoked, procedurally this is at least similar to smoking cannabis. If you're an avid pot smoker you'll figure out how to smoke DMT with little to no oversight. Liberating, it takes less than 15 minutes for it to totally clear so you don't have to plan your day around the event. The event can actually be emergent and chaotic. Which to me is another message it has for us since our lives are so very structured. This lesson is taught before the smoking part of the experience ever takes place and it's not realized until after. Dogma and routine are to put up false expectations of the next present moment.

Should we drive forth to the future staring only into the rear-view mirror?

So now some may say, "Well i can't see around it, the mirror is all I have to go by", "What other models of the future are there if not built on the past?" and to that I say, "don't ask me! DMT!"

"Seek not abroad, turn back into thyself, for in the inner man dwells the truth..."

There are natural ways to

There are natural ways to access the same chemicals. Tetrahedron dancing for a start, them into the cube, then into the dodecahedron.

Do folks feel that if one never takes peyote or ayuahsca that they will not accelerate as quickly as those who do.?
Really it is about increasing the coherence of your field. Making it more fractal, that is all the entheogens really do anyways. The question is what happens when you are compressed/imploded and can't sustain it? It creates holes! Also at a certain point if an individuals field was coherent enough they could effect you. They could speak words of shroomery to you are give you touches of DMT ;)

But I would never in a

But I would never in a million years ever merely take an entheogen on my own by myself ..... That to me.. (and from all I have heard is irresponsible)

To abuse the medicines either recreationally or just not taking proper precautions is foolhardy

I would prefer to have a an experience led by an experienced leader... teacher/healer/shaman....

Sure, chance favors the

Sure, chance favors the prepared mind, proper planning prevents poor performance, and it's better to error on the side of caution...

But just because one is not taking them alone does that alleviate the potential for seemingly irresponsible outcomes to arise. Even the seemingly most objective observer could be projecting elaborate symptoms of their own psychological neurosis dictated by their own economic and/or social conditioning.

Don't get me wrong. It is meaningful advise to not go it alone for all that could go potentially wrong. But in retrospect, who knows more about you and your experience than you do? We seek out the shaman because we think something is wrong with us or missing. Ironically the shaman doesn't know either he or she just has a track record of providing various enablers successfully and reliably. What makes a leader? The will to follow? What constitutes a healer? An ability or willingness to be? What is a teacher? Any thing by which one learns from?

The psychedelic experience is often equated to traveling or journeying and I might contend that like any place else. One can become familiar enough with the territory to travel there alone. Terrence Mckenna himself said that his preferred method was to take them alone in silent darkness. For me I think this is a plane which all brave psychonauts should strive for. Quality over quantity.
