I can't honestly proclaim myself a FEMINIST. I never liked or identified
with that term.

I was born in 68.. and rode the wave of the women's movement.. the
self actualization of women in the market place. Good for them!

but honestly.. I never desired to be that 'career woman'. Now, at age 41..
I yearn for simple things... that include simple ways of living. (knitting, cooking
and sewing to name a few)

Yet I know that there is a lot of discussion in some circles about the upcoming
"new age" .. the possible shift in 2012 of another more perhaps "matriarchal'
society.. where women play a much more profound role in society and civilization
yet.. where the male and female are more in balance with one another...

I was struck then.. by some recent voices that have been present in the current
political and financial sectors that happen to be women. Elizabeth Warren and
Brooksly Born.

Brooksly Born was warning of our current financial mess 11 years ago! and she was
ignored and "dismissed' and silenced. Now.. Allen Greenspan has eaten his own words
admitted he was wrong about the way His Ayn Randian model worked.

I wonder if women such as the ones above might be a signal that women sometimes
have better intution regarding issues and are demonstrating the womens brain in
how to better manage our society.. hmmm?

The irony then of Ayn Rand

Yes.. I realise that Ayn Rand and Michelle Malkin and Sarah Palin are all female as
well.. and so.. perhaps my theory will fall flat in the mud....

Feminism

I couldn't think of anything more feminine than cooking, knitting and the like.
Women have lost a lot of their soul by giving up the simple things.

There should be a place

There should be a place where women can get together of all ages and teach one another certain things as cooking, knitting, sewing, weaving, etc. Because I was not raised with such things in my own home. I never learned how to cook, use makeup, act like a woman, or dress like one for that matter. I don't feel as though women should be defined by the trades or skills such as cooking but it does come in handy when you meet your life partner and cannot even cook a microwave meal for them. (yes you can laugh all you want, it's pretty funny looking back). But my point is that, not everyone gets a chance to learn such things as growing up I was quite lost to find who I am because I did not have the quintessential skills of a woman. Although, I was raised differently I am now happy it happened that way, so do not mistake my words for remorse or sadness, it made me who I am!

Simple things in life

Oh and as far as the career woman thing goes. I feel the same desire. I would much rather build my own home with earthen objects or recycled objects, cultivate my own food, and have children. But now that society has changed to see woman as career women, I have also been placed into that category by my own family...Their setting their selves up for disaster!

Thank you for sharing!

I am excited to see, and experience, women taking a larger role in society. it would be a little naive of me to say that all women have better intuition than men, but nonetheless I feel their intuition. Transcend_reality, I too was raised in a different atmosphere, but instead I was raised by three women, and had very little influence of the male in my life. To this day my favorite hobbies are cooking, sewing, and making music, and all of my best friends are women, I am sometimes even blown away by my sensitivity which it seems many contemporary American males do not have. But i am rambling, women are fantastic, and the world is starting to balance out, we just all need to balance ourselves. What a wonderful playgeround this world is!

I have to admit up until a just a few years back I was still flipping the whole roll play of male and female around or female and male... cause it so doesn't hold water anymore for me. There has to be balance in order for true unity to exist.
I'm ready to leave duality and try the next level of co existence. we've turned this box every witch way but loose! time for a change!
