I had an opportunity to go to Serpent mound in Ohio on Sunday.. but didn't. It was in connection with some other Mayan 2012 group.. They had about 90 people participate. I had been to another event last year with Hunbatz Menz which was good.
The woman and her husband who are "walkers" with this other Mayan "elder" and who have family in the area called me today to tell me about a grailleville labrynth walk tommorow night. but I can't go because I am going to be talking to folks about the Transition Town movement.
She was not familiar with the movement.
I had felt like I had been missing out on some of the more spiritual energy rituals that are going on... She did an annointing at another event I heard them speak and It was pretty powerful (imho) ...
I try not to be too "woo woo".. and fluffy but at the same time.... I feel a connection to a spiritual journey. However, in calling the energy of action.. I recognize that some of what I am doing is VERY Spiritual.. it is action oriented. In talking about spiritual warriers... what does that mean? Running around only doing rituals? Or engaging into actual action?
We are all where we are supposed to be.. or should be. I sometimes get "jealous" at all the opportunities out on the west coast. I live in Ohio and while there is some good energy here... we get overlooked. I don't know why I feel like I am missing out.. but the energy and action always seems to be OUT THERE.. out west.. .. and I am trying to pick up and learn things in the midwest cause I can't really travel out there.
but I am doing what I can... whether it is improving myself.. or working on the Transtion Town Movement. That IS action. That IS Spiritual work. We all must follow our own paths.. have our own journey's learn our own lessons.. I have to remember that.
She talked about spiritual "warriers" (i realize that is kind of violent title but it is a place holder for now).... and I realised as I spoke with her.. I am trying, in my own way to help with the transition. I get bits and pieces of ritual.. of energy.. and do what I can in the time alloted to me and work with that. We all have our jobs to do.. roles journeys'......big lesson is become awakened... and treat each other with compassion and live this life in joy.... and work to treat this planet better. and live more in balance.

People who have a reflex reaction to the term 'spiritual warrior' tend to believe the conflict is in the outer world, something we have to fix external to ourselves.
But a true warrior knows it is inside that the conflict must be resolved, as well as the deeper reality that everyone on Earth is a warrior on that level. As within, so without.
There is no shame to be felt at what we see when we look inside. What we observe in ourselves is the source of the conflict in the world today. People who look outwardly and point and say, 'that's not me!', drive the conflict further into relief for all to see.
We're all giving and receiving at the same time, regardless of where one is.
And by the way, I love Ohio, it's a great place. Southeastern Ohio has some of the most beautiful wilderness and landscape out there.
