Any of you had the chance to watch the movie The Men Who Stare at Goats? I had seen the previews for the film a couple of times, and I think that they did a very poor job of showing what it was really all about. Watching the previews you think these are all some nut jobs trying to do something with goats. I wouldn't have been remotely interested to be honest, the only reason I decided to rent it is because Kevin Spacey is one of my favorite actors so I thought I'd give it a try.
Ten minutes into the movie I knew what it was all about, and I was so excited to finish it! I have done some reading on psychic experiments done with the CIA and army, but I have not read the actual book, which is the same title as this movie. I knew a little here and there about the First Earth Battalion and how they were taken down in the end.
My point is that I loved this movie and if you have not yet seen it I definitely recommend it. I wish this movie had received much more attention than it did, and that Hollywood would not have made the previews look so vague and like everyone in the First Earth Battalion was f-ing cracked. The actors were amazing, the message and true story was inspiring to watch on screen, and it was really funny.
One of the most beautiful prayers to Mother Earth was recited in this movie, and I wanted to share that with you all as well:
"Mother Earth, you are my life-support system, as your daughter, I must drink your blue water, live inside your red clay, and eat your green skin. Help me to balance myself, as you hold in balance the earth, the sea, and the space environments. Help me to open my heart, knowing that the universe will feed me. I pray my feet will always kiss your face, and my footsteps match your heartbeat. Carry my body through space and time. You are my connection to the universe, and all that comes after. I am yours, and you are mine. I salute you."
I think this is something that could be shared with anybody, no matter the religion, culture, or personal beliefs. Gaia is here for us all, to share, to love, and to nurture.
