What about curmudgeons?

In one of my "other lives"(I have a few) I spend a lot of time with the Church of the Subgenius. For those who forgot about it, the Church can be defined below.

"the world's first Industrial Church, the
prophesied End Times cult of screamers and laughers, scoffers, blasphemers
mockers, sinners, and the last true holymen in America today."

What can you give and what do you want?

On September 24 I decided to do my small part to Occupy Wall Street. This was during the time in the protest when they were concerned about having enough food and enough dietary variety. After a brief e-mail exchange with someone I decided upon a course of action.

Two ways of getting money

One of the things that I have seen recently in regards to the criticism of Occupy Wall Street seems to do with money.

A great summary of the argument can be found here(http://www.evolver.net/user/nexus/blog/occupywallstreet_99_entitlement_v...) but can be summed up as follows.

Locks, Keys, and the Mind

Not so long ago a book that I'm sure most people have heard about was brought to my attention called, "The Game". The book, honestly, is of so/so importance to me. What caught my attention were the comments on Amazon(http://www.amazon.com/Game-Penetrating-Secret-Society-Artists/product-re...)

A self observation; looking into the Abyss

First of all, this is not going to be one of those "chock full of universally applicable wisdom" type posts. It's just some thoughts about my own path. The main reason I don't just type it on my PC is because it's easier for me to find Evolver blog posts than a text file on my PC.

Those people you disagree with...

I disagree with a lot of people and I do so quite often. It has never been said(to my face, anyway) that I am a disagreeable person, but if it was said, I would agree wholeheartedly.

And yet, even though there are a lot of people that I disagree with, there are only a few people that I actually dislike. No more than 5, actually.

That isn't an accident.

Naked Lunch; Seeing and Changing the Bad Bits

In regards to the book, "Naked Lunch", Jack Kerouac suggested the title.

"The title means exactly what the words say: naked lunch, a frozen moment when everyone sees what is on the end of every fork."

I think that when one is working on oneself in any capacity, we all have a Naked Lunch moment. We see the good and the bad parts of ourselves.

What's happening tomorrow in NYC?

Ok, here's the deal.

I'm giving my girlfriend a ride to a big bridesmaid-palooza thing she's doing in NYC this Saturday. The thing is, I am not a big fan of bridesmaid stuff AT ALL. So, I'm planning to make my own fun for the day.
