Visionary Music? Possible.

Since the explosion of creativity in the arts post-60s Americana cultural breakthrough, we are finding greater and greater numbers of individuals pursuing thier bliss and their dream of creating and being the vessels for creativity itself to express through.
I see this as a global shamanic revival of sorts, but one that is not rooted in pure inspiration but influenced by commerce. Personally witnessing this in people around me who were interested in establishing a high profile career as musicians or visual artists only alienated me, as they became increasingly 'ethically challenged' and 'morally flexible' in their dealings with others including me. I have had my chances at a career in music ousted and flicked away many times over the decades.
It actually got to the point where I surrendered my bliss, locked myself away from the world almost entirely, but somehow the energy could not die no matter how much I tried to kill it.
In the end I had to surrender again - this time to the realisation that while I may lack the money, the connections, the status to successfully pursue a career in music composition and performance, I would at least be able to compose and document my performances via the medium of recording and make these available online. I believe I would have offered all of my work for free if I had the necessary means to do so. In past ten years I had created blog sites that gave away a great deal of information that was usually charged in the tens of thousands of dollars, all for absolutely free. I think one of these sites - Logosbaphomet - is still up and long since I lost the password to it, some 'enterprising' persons usurped it and are making a great deal of profit from my work.
To end this little entry, allow me to introduce to you my new site for cataloging and distributing my music work.
Please head to http://dominacatrinalee.bandcamp.com and take a non-distracted moment to really listen.
Genres include and defy easy categorization : jazz, jazz fusion, progressive rock, ambient, post-minimalist, Indian classical, Chinese classical.
If you like or are drawn to the music, consider supporting this work and me, and download an album or two.
Thank you for your precious time.

Visionary music
Hey Catrina, check out the episode list of my podcast Visionary Artists Podcast - I've interviewed several visionary musicians (Capsula, East Forest, Anima etc) and discussed the aesthetics of visionary music in-depth. I was just listening to your work and would love to have you come on to discuss it sometime - I'm booked up for the next 4 guests (2 months) but maybe in October? You can learn more about the show on my website www.beyondthebasin.com
