a lot of talk - no(t much) action

i surely fall into this category - i feel there is a lot of talk i produce but not much of larger-scale action. lager scale? i mean with that drawing in more and more around me, going out and finally put my actions where my mouth is, get those things started - even on a small scale - which have been on my mind, on my mental to-do-list for a while now. no longer only talk, theorising, waiting (for more information, for more conceptualising those ideas, for the right moment etc). finally get things started.

on a smaller scale i feel i am getting there with regards of the ratio talk vs action. my own life, the small space that is ME is getting there. the things i believe in i have and am still getting out of the theoretical into practice. this being with regards of how i live - meaning the areas around e.g. food, consumption, spirituality, information/learning/investigation, relationships (friends/family/community). right on the path of "simplifying". day-to-day life, mind, actions.

as much as i like the notion that once i "change" myself this spreads out to those around me, and know this to be true as well, i do also feel the urge of impatience within me as well as something-in-the-air around me.

things are changing, understandings are changing, attitudes are changing - within us and as we all notice also around us. we feel this, we talk about this but so far not much we do about this in true action.

visions are being shared, suggestions on actions being introduced - many great ideas, many great debates. and yet, this is where it still stands (or even stops) at the moment.

i propose we are done with talking, debating the basics over and over but finally get started. from the bottom up, the scaffolding of what we wish to create so to speak, the backbone from where to take it further. we need to start lining out those areas, those pillars onto which we wish to build upon. identifying them we have already done, get them now organised into a foundation. no more talk/debate needed on this. no more distraction either. and start building.

my impatience comes from feeling the increased notion of there is something in the air. i know, you all know, that this is nothing we only imagine (due to where we "are" mentally and within our evolution at the moment) but because this is what is happening. people all around. not only those who are "awake" already but everyone is slowly waking up. and they are waiting. for the nudges, for being shown a road to travel on. they are there in their understandings already, they know there is a new path to take. they just don't know how to walk it.

lately i have had the same discussions/talks with very different groups of people. and this not because i initiated these topics to be at the centre of attention of the debate but because these issues are here for everyone to see and feel. and everyone knows and thinks about it. from my relatives (young and old), from groups of tourists from around the world featuring different cultures and standings, from friends in and out of the rat-race, from just general people off the street, neighbours that i have never talked to until now etc.

they all - every single one - agree that change is in the air. that things need to change (e.g. in regards of food production, local/regional consumption, financial market situation, MSM, government, social systems and injustices, and and and and and). everything and anything we talk about here on Evolver i found myself talking about with people i know or just met. they all get it. they all know there are so many things that are wrong. they even have ideas how to circumvent. they just at the moment - just like us here - know only to talk about it. but not what to do on a grander scale. they are waiting. like us? for a nudge. to stop talking and start the action.

this nudge does not need to be something grand - no fighting & marching revolution. the nudge should only trigger, the larger actions will follow after this like a domino effect. it is just so darn difficult for most, so it seems, to take the first step.

i can't help but thinking about what a girl from Australia said to me yesterday. her and her husband have been on a free tour with me in the morning. and came onto another one in the evening where she turned round and told me that during their travels through Europe they did all the museums and lots of tours as they felt it was something that needed to be done. but never really fully feeling it. the history they learnt, the stories and displays they saw. it was just something you do but not got any deeper. and then. that very afternoon. they both talked about how they suddenly got hooked onto history. never really have liked it during school or ever since. and then something clicked. and they got interested as finding that all that has happened does influence what is now happening and might happen. they got hooked. and have decided to now go out. take action. and dive into history. she sounded so surprised that something like this could happen to her. and yet dreadfully excited of having found something new.

i am surely not saying that the tour yesterday did it for them, i am saying that things have been building up, influx came from many different directions, got stored subconsciously and all it needed was a nudge, a spark to trigger action.

we all need this nudge, this spark. and yet i wonder whether we are waiting for someone to provide us with it or whether we are finally able to go out and initiate this spark ourselves.

i feel i need to stop talking only and start the action - finally

I've also been wanting to write a blog about this subject ck... but without a little more research I'll just say what's on my mind. I think Ideally we should be talking and acting at the same time. We should be dreaming, and having collective dreams, and we shouldn't worry about how long it will take or even when those dreams come true. Just having those dreams puts that stuff out there that inevitably create the conditions for it to be a reality. How long did the anti-slavery movement 'talk' before slavery became abolished worldwide? Or the women's suffrage movement? How many sci-fi novels were written before people visited the moon?

Sure, eventually there was action and there must be for things to change. But we also live in a new paradigm where information is more dominant and a viral change in the information sphere can have more and faster effects then physical, local changes. To use an old analogy, it is like the difference between a good butcher that knows where to cut the meat and a novice who is just hacking at it.

So yes, take action but don't kill the dream. And be very conservative with your energy.

Cheers,

Meade

research

I am looking forward to your dealing with this subject after you've done your research...I just got off what was on my mind, how I felt - albeit I'm all for theory often issues get to me and just overwhelm so I need to get them off my chest if that makes any sense. A well-rounded debate on this would be very interesting indeed.

I hear what you are saying with regards to talk/action as well as local/global and agree with you as well to a point. I just find at the moment we seem to tackle i.e. talk about the same issues over and over again without really moving forward. Most of those issues we already agree upon in the essentials - so I wonder, what's the next step?

a great subject -communication is part of the action

quite simply its all about communi-cation, cation being the c before the communal ac-tion =)

You're doing it now.

unfolding an ever evolving humanity

what a great way of looking at it

... and a reason I love communication/talking :) - always getting a different angle onto things via exchange of ideas/views as well...

communication as part of the action - I like! - thanks for this!
