I felt this was important because if we know how to speak about it amongst each other, we could speak about it to others who don't already understand, and even if that doesn't work it could still be in existence as something that is taking place in this town and in this university, and culturally could impact a certain number of students that know about it and are simply curious as to what it is.
Amir is my roommate this year, and he understands "it is impossible to communicate this understanding because it is an idea that is learned through our experiences."
"life is the only thing that can enlighten you, such as emotion because it is pure."
He thinks its a waste to sit and talk, he says generally he talks too much and doesn't do enough.
"They can do that anywhere", they don't need to do that at introspective truth.
He pointed out that introspective truth's meetings were always a discussion, and instead he would rather be involved in a group of people that shared his knowledge for the sake of simply being with them, being friends with them, and acting upon the things that are important in their eyes because they share the understanding.
It was like a paradigm shift in my mind because we don't have to really keep talking to each other about what we've come to realize, we can just be with each other, and do the things we need to do.
But also we can get others curious because they may decide they also want to seek out the truth. They create an intention as a way for them to experience introspective truth for themselves.

When we gather to discuss
When we gather to discuss the ineffable, perhaps the best value of this activity is the COMMUNION of us who are on the path of awakening to the ineffable. It is always good to be in the company of like-minded others, even if we can't clearly compare, define or articulate our like-mindedness.
Another value is that when we hear others attempting to articulate their experience and understanding of the Ineffable, there is always the possibilty that their understanding and articulation will inform and deepen our own understanding and experience of awakening. We may be able to generate a deepening for others as well when we practice in the company of others communicating that which is perhaps essentially incommunicable.
Also, I like your thought that in gathering we may be tempting and instigating the awakening of others who have not as yet traveled as deeply as those who are much more experienced on the inner, esoteric path.
The value of the Introspectic Truth Group is also very much, as you say, "if we know how to speak about it amongst each other, we could speak about it to others who don't already understand" I think the practice of articulating/communicating the ineffable is very important because the world desparately needs to HEAR and know about this kind of information/understanding/experience. "If the truth can be understood, then it will be believed." The Introspective Truth Group gives practice in the art of helping the "truth" to be communicated, to be triggered in the distracted psyches of those who have yet to explore.
For what it's worth (imho) I think that the Introspective Truth Group is one of the best, most important student groups that IU has possibly ever seen. :-)
This exchange made me cry ;)
Kind of a lot, actually, and I'm not even sure why. It's such a fierce honor to be here with you!
