transmuting negative energies

I'll start out with a dream I had two nights ago, and fill you in on real life examples afterwords, one in our culture's psyche, and one in my own life.

The dream starts out as me watching the news, a female anchor struggles to overcome her laughter as she is reporting that extra terrestrials have come and are landing soon. She laughs because although she is reporting it, she still doesn't believe it. I laugh as I am watching it, but not out of disbelief, but out of excitement. The scene changes and I'm walking with my friends, my friend Aubre keeps saying "It's about to go down, it's about to go down." (If you knew her you'd be laughing) Our group of friends end up at my lake house waiting for the landings. From the upstairs loft, a young man walks down to greet us. Despite his American accent, we knew at first glance he was not of this planet. The rest of the dream only involves the alien and I in the setting of my lake house. He is polite, but he wants me to learn, he wants me to transmute negative energies. So he starts calling out in rapid succession the dark sides within me and makes me aware of them. This initially aggravates me because I would rather be unconscious of my darkness, or have since been in denial of it, but now seeing it in plain sight and unable to argue it I become flustered. But just after I realize exactly what he's doing. He is unveiling the negative focuses I have within things in my life. That have been tucked away and pushed aside but yet are ready to come forth from the slightest mention of their existences. I kept telling the man "I understand, I understand."

This may remind you of the "controversy" surrounding the possibility of building a Mosque near ground zero. What has happened here is that the pre-existing negative energies, the ignorance and the ethnocentristic attitudes have become uncovered. They have been there the whole time, but they just needed a poke to awaken their frustration.

In my life, my ex girlfriend from high-school's social group (which will end up including her) are going to start hanging out with my guy group of friends social group during homecoming week. I find myself very apprehensive to make friends with any of the girls because of the attitude I've been holding towards her and what I feel she stands for.

In both cases, something has been revealed, a negative attitude, and energy or charge that must be transmuted and taken out or released. It's time to be intelligent about our attitude.
