"I was walking along the road with two friends. The sun set. I felt a tinge of melancholy. Suddenly the sky became a bloody red. I stopped, leaned against the railing, dead tired. And I looked at the flaming clouds that hung like blood and sword over the blue-black fjord and city. My friends walked on. I stood there, trembling with fright. And I felt a loud, unending scream piercing nature."
EDVARD MUNCH

We hear about scandal after scandal, day after day...on major news broadcasts, in all the papers, not to mention the tabloids, on the net...money scandals...political scandals...sex scandals…
But the REAL scandal has not yet surfaced in this ocean of media. The REAL scandal is that there is a solution RIGHT NOW to the crisis in the environment that threatens the entire globe...there is a clean, infinitely sustainable source of energy right under our feet that can be tapped NOW in such a way that enough power can be generated...at costs lower than the cost of nuclear, "clean" coal, etc....to light and operate the entire planet. This power source is the heat created by Mother Earth herself. The deep vertical tunnel drilling technology exists NOW to tap into this immense source ANYWHERE on earth...not just in geothermally active locations like Iceland.

Nature is SCREAMING. We must start listening...

1. The earth is in a critical dirty energy/global warming situation NOW.
It is almost too late to do something about it already.

2. The only type of clean energy solution that is sustainable indefinitely and can realistically provide enough energy to supply the Earth's needs is geothermic (not geothermal).

3. The only way to utilize geothermic on a large enough scale to accomplish the above is by drilling large numbers of deep geothermic "wells". Near surface access, which works in Iceland, for example, will not work globally.

4. The only existing technology which can realistically accomplish this is the SirexGEOthermic/TurboJack Vertical Tunnel system.

5. Government officials and the public need to be educated about the above points NOW, not over a long period of time. This educational process/information campaign must not only illustrate the obvious advantages of geothermic but should conclusively demonstrate why fossil and nuclear solutions must be phased out as soon as possible.

6. After learning about the nature of the crisis and the available solution, governments and the private business sector need to initiate a program of widespread geothermic plant construction NOW, not 5 or 10 or 20 years from now. One group building 10 plants is better than nothing, but when it is estimated that a total of 10,000 such plants will eventually be needed, the magnitude of the changeover process from fossil fuel and nuclear comes into focus.

Problems with geothermal energy

Thanks for the reply to The Real Scandal post. In another post I will provide more details about GEOthermic energy vs. geothermal (also, a visit to http://sirexgeothermic.blogspot.com can start this process), but as a brief response to your link re the disadvantages of geothermal...

1. Location: The vertical tunnels proposed in the GEOthermic approach can be dug anywhere on earth...even under water...are not restricted to geothermally active areas.

2. Longevity: The estimated life of a GEOthermic power plant is open ended...the hot rock layers involved do not "run out of steam".

3. Transportation: Since location is not a factor, these GEOthermic power plants can be built near existing (or new) grids/cities that are the end user of the electricity.

4. Hazards: The vertical tunnels are sealed as they are dug.

5. Earthquakes: An array of encased vertical tunnels/power plants will tend to stabilize even an earthquake prone area, but since they can be dug anywhere, unstable areas can be avoided.

Also, these power plants can meet baseload requirements...24/7/365.
