This is the first offering to Evolver and I would like to present a simple idea that has been hovering over my conciousness today. I have spent much of my spiritual searching with my "monkey mind". It is as if this mind can never be fully satisfied. Quickly after finishing something that moves me, rather than letting the ideas sink into place I find myself searching for something new to train my mind on.

I think there are an infinite amount of possible avenues that can lead us to our higher selves. but. settling into life and seeing through new eyes is the end point (and the subsequent beginning) of these avenues. So much of our culture pours energy into the concept of constant movement, usually at a hurried pace. I have found myself thinking today if everything has an exact counterpoint, what is the counterpoint to the ideologies we find ourselves in (and moving out of) today. I think it is giving up control or the idea that we can control. As I mentioned above the spiritual awakenings I have had over the years have all ended in the use of a new idea to better control things. Control is the illusion.

What if we all settle into our true selves by slowing down? What happens to our worldview when we realize that by doing absolutely nothing (flowing down the river life offers) life continues, and even ascends to a place where the people, places, and learning we need come in and out of our lives in perfect time. We need change nothing because the universe has been moving the world towards this moment in which we all live. Trust. Trust in what ever you feel inside. Know that the true wisdom we seek is in nothing. It is in stillness and observance not overactivity and energy spread over far to great an expanse. We cannot feel god without exploring his great kingdom, the world around us. But we must always remember that the fire burning inside, lighting our way must be cared for above all else. Because without the inner flame all we see around us is darkness.

Can it be said that giving

Can it be said that giving up control is a type of control in itself? I suppose I liken this to knowing. Do you know? Or do you know that you do not know?; or that you can't know? So if I presume to know something I can't know am I confessing a type of ignorance or insanity? Can the same be said for control? What is it if I claim to control that which I do not?; or cannot control?

Does trust not derive from some type of confidence which in turn derives from some type of assurance? Is that to say if there is no assurance there can be no confidence and thus no trust...?

If no elements of trust are available or present what's left?

Faith?

Loosing Control

I believe the pace we find ourselves in is beyond our conscious control. The universe dictates the passage of what we perceive as time within this dimensional framework and it is evident by all accounts that the universe is moving (forward) even faster. And since we are purely a physical manifestation of all that this universe is made of (elements) that we move to the same rhythm and pace. It is like the vortex of water flowing to the center of the drain - it seemingly is moving faster then the larger body of water that swirls toward it. I propose in view of the current planetary movement toward our galactic center, that we perceive time to be moving ever faster. So how much control can you exercise - just let go and enjoy the ride - and if to let go is to abandon control - so be it - for as in all things natural - time is not of relevance - but the cycle of passage is.
