The word is far more valuable than a piece of paper with the word written on it.

Ok, so this is my weekly dews-day blog, late again on when's day, and is a response to Daniel's blog about evolver money (not the good kind).

We have the potential here to create a community without money, and while I understand your concerns and might still continue to use the site as long as the "membership" dues were similar to the current rs backstage pass, the mere presence of money and commercialization on this site, even to the degree that has already happened over at rs, will probably only do more harm than good.
How can we be "evolvers" preaching a world without money if we each have to pay five dollars a month to help maintain a simple blog site? How can we try to inform others that free energy exists when we can't find the free energy to run a fucking blog site?
Information does not cost money and should be free, and the revolution needs to be free. This is the only way we can evolve past this putrid society.
The spores are clearly the most important thing going for this site and network, and money to help aid these events could be helpful, but it seems to me that a number of these spores already are working on ways to build community without money, which is what we have going here already. It also seems to me that those responsible for creating these spores are doing it with their heart and their own time, which again is a much more beautiful thing than receiving a yearly salary to promote a social networking site. We need to remember what's at stake here and not confuse means with ends. Everything seems to be taking off just fine here, although there is certainly a lot more work to do, and the "shared plan of action" is really what's necessary here rather than a shared fund. If any large sum is ever needed for any particular "plan of action," well then the network is here and could probably raise the sum depending on the desire behind the action.
I am absolutely not a fan, however, of providing money here so that paid positions can be created. Make your money in the old paradigm as it crumbles, and use your love to create the new paradigm that realizes we don't need money but only each other. There is a community to help here with any work that needs to be done and time that needs to be devoted, and the more we spread out this work and get everyone involved, the quicker the movement will spread and everyone will evolve.
Any money spent "training" leaders will all ultimately be bullshit, as teachers and leaders can't be trained by any other action than leading themselves, and the courses I spent in college "teaching" me how to "teach" others were some of the most ridiculous jokes ever. And whatever happened to your cultivating individual power for the public good course Daniel? If you cared about educating leaders there was your opportunity there.
I was skeptical when RS first started asking for money, but any sort of dues function on evolver would be in my mind, a deadly blow for the movement. But one step back will not derail us and I'm sure the movement will simply move to somewhere else. We can create the free earthly sustainable community we need, but we can't do it through words or through paper with words on it. We need disciplined loving action and that's all. I tend to think all words are as much bullshit as daniel's idea/post, but we do follow the signs we need to get where we are going, and quite a lot of bullshit does need to be cleaned up right now.
Ok, so there are my thoughts for now. Not sure who out there may care, but that's my shit.
Next week: Reiki, what the fuck is this? (I'm a devoted level II and have honestly no clue).

interesting
I have no opinion to share on the topic, but I have to comment that it appears unlikely that this dualistic argument is ever going to be resolved.
I'm undecided if I will pay 5 dollars a month for "membership:, but I do know that I certainly spend 5 bucks every month on something I probably don't need.
speaking of which. I'm hungry.
