RADICAL SELF-RESPONSIBILITY: What to do with all the Power?

After my mind-blowing revelation that I ALONE held the power over my own thoughts and therefore power over my experience of “Reality,” everything in the world seemed suddenly different. One moment I was able to seek pity and solace in my identity as a powerless victim of a cruel and unloving world, and the next moment there was no one to blame for anything! ALL the power for CHANGE existed SOLEY within my own Mind!

Ah! This changes EVERYTHING! What does one DO with all this NEW FOUND POWER?!! It’s no wonder we live in a world of “victims” because the alternative to Victim Nation is Radical Self-Responsibility World, which I think might be the very definition of ARMAGEDDON for most people. What would American’s DO if each person were suddenly faced with the responsibility of managing the contents of their MIND! What would people do with all the hatred stirring inside them if they realized it was all just an ILLUSION of their own thinking? All HELL might break loose!

I think Bill Hicks hit the nail right on the head when he said that Americans are so miserable, there NEEDS to be an enemy, there must be SOMEONE else to blame! We’ve all become prisoners of our own belief system that says “If I’m unhappy IT MUST BE SOMEONE’S ELSE’S FAULT.” It wouldn’t even OCCUR to most people to look within and just change their reactions to things. NO! Instead, we go on full-blown witch-hunts searching for something or someone at whom to point the finger. “I’m so miserable it’s Bush’s fault, my parents fault, global warming’s fault, my boss’s fault, Republican’s fault, Democrat’s fault, the “Terrorists” fault, Healthcare’s fault, religion’s fault, flu virus’s fault. I had a shitty childhood, my husband cheated on me. I was in an accident. I have cancer. I lost my job. No body loves me, I don’t have a enough money, other people have more than me, my government suppresses me, I’m gay and can’t get married, I’m discriminated against, the world is not FAIR TO ME! And so on and so on and so on. Sometimes when I get into my own “victim” mind, I get this urge to bitch slap the entire country! When did the Land of the Free turn into the Land of Helpless Cry Babies?

We seek fear and loathing where ever we can find it so that we can project our own internal misery all over it. And not surprising, a new enemy ALWAYS emerges. If its not one thing it’s another, and yet taking responsibility for ourselves and how we CHOOSE to react to the world somehow never occurs to us! Instead of making use of our Divine Free Will that govern our own personal thoughts and reactions, we spend most of our lives futilely trying to get everyone in the entire world to THINK LIKE WE DO! When did conformity become a good thing?

When did we jettison the American Dream of Freedom and lock ourselves into this belief system that says, “if EVERYONE on the planet should think like me, then all the world’s problems would disappear?” Can you imagine a world with NO DIFFERENCE? And yet we battle each other tooth and nail over every single difference—over every thing that makes us each unique! We live in fear of each other as we keep creating more and more ways to protect ourselves from OURSELVES! We invent more laws and more restrictions because we can’t trust each other to have integrity! And yet, we fail to see the irony in that!

And worst of all, in the course of cutting ourselves off from each other and cutting ourselves off FROM OURSELVES, we’ve FORGOTTEN our sense of COMPASSION. We want to KILL the EVIL Terrorists! Kill the evil child molesters. Lock up the criminals. Blame. Punish. Point fingers. Criticize. Judge. Hate. Fear. OH FRICKING MY! We find ENDLESS ways of justifying our anger and hatred towards those who we deem “deserving” of our blame and yet when anyone points the finger back at us we find this UNACCEPTABLE. JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED. Unless, of course, they DESERVE our judgment.

I’m pretty sure the saying is “love thy brother as thyself” and not “love only thy brothers who are worth thy love.” In fact, it usually takes some MASSIVE global disaster like a tsunami or earthquake to make us stop, open our hearts again, and remember our own HUMANITY. Suddenly spending our days villianizing corporate CEO’S doesn’t seem as urgent an issue as coming to the aid of over 200,000 people killed or maimed after a massive shift in the Earth’s crust. It’s as if, Mother Earth herself is trying to remind us of our own values. Suddenly, our petty whining over who has a job or not seems silly and insignificant when an entire country of people ends up buried alive under housing made of match sticks.

When push comes to shove, we are mostly a nation of caring and loving people, and yet we are so busy BLAMING and pointing fingers at each other, we forgot to love ourselves and each other. How come we are capable of opening our hearts to a dilapidated third world country ravished by greed and poverty, but we allow our own citizens to go without food and medical care? There is absolutely no reason we can’t mobilize in the SAME WAY and express this type of love and compassionate in ALL areas of our lives!

At the end of the day, its clear to me that only one simple thing EVER needs to change in order for there to be peace in the world, and that’s the way I think. That’s it. And the journey to the outer realms of the Universe begins with the first INDIVIDUAL step…RADICAL SELF-RESPONSIBILITY. In ANY moment, what do I choose to believe is true? Love or Fear? Just as Day and Night exist simultaneously at all times on our planet, Love and Fear exist, too. We don’t need to RID the world of night time in order to experience the day no more than we need to rid the world of fear in order to experience love. Its just a CHOICE. I GET TO CHOOSE which one gets my attention. And if everyone would just get their nose out of everyone else’s business and stop using the world’s minority moron pool as their excuse to remain in fear, then the process of HOPE AND CHANGE could go a lot quicker. And even if it doesn’t, I don’t have to be a “victim” of other people’s ignorance. Even if I am the ONLY person on the planet that makes the choice to ALLOW infinite difference to express itself however it chooses, MY WORLD and MY experience of “reality” remains joyful and pleasant because I’m no longer trapped in a prison of my own judgment of others. I don’t need other people to see the world like I do in order for me to experience my world from a place of LOVE.

We’ve been sitting around WAITING for OBAMA to swoop in and be some sort of SAVIOR to the world. BUT HOPE AND CHANGE, begins within ourselves. NO ONE is coming to save us!!! NO ONE. With our own FREE WILL WE CREATED this experience of fear and victimhood and WE ALONE are responsible for creating something different. THIS IS TRUE POWER of creation. The question remains as to what we choose to do with it.
