Music and Conscious Evolution

For the longest time I played music, mostly guitar, in a pretty predictable way. I learned other peoples songs and liked to play them in social settings, gigging for a while and hosting a handful of different open mics around town. Every now and again I would get a glimpse of music serving some deeper function, and how it could reflect and resonate with experiences of my higher self. I would write a piece of “journey” music that would remind me of the insight and the experience, and more often than not would forget about it, or bust them out occasionally and be reminded of the experience but never having a deeper sense of what to do with them.
It wasn’t until I began to discover and attune myself to the ideas surrounding the embodiment of the evolutionary intent that my playing changed radically, and I was drawn to discover entirely new modes of musical expression for me. This process of musical innovation and exploration seemed to energize the growing awareness within me, creating a positive feedback loop that excites me because the experience is so sharable. I am discovering a deep passion about sharing these musical expressions not only because I can reinforce my evolutionary intent by re-experiencing them myself, but it seems like something powerful happens when I share them with you. If you experience any sort of resonance with what you hear, then the energy that is embodied in the music gets transmitted to you the listener, straight from my heart, and because the music was played so consciously and lovingly at it's conception, a bond is created linking our hearts in a mutually beneficial exchange. If we so choose, we can reinforce the resonant intent of embodying the evolutionary front and thereby amplify our collective potential, awakening our highest ideals and loves.
I experience that every time that I intentionally play my music with an evolutionary perspective it somehow taps into the collective energies of those who share similar alignments and it amplifies those intentions so as to further stimulate the resonant field at the forefront of my awakening. I can't help but wonder if there is some parallel with our collective awakening, as “the field” appears to be non-local and by it's nature is a resonant phenomenon. I suspect that this is a snowball type dynamic, in that the more we engage in such activities, and especially in activities with others that sync our purposeful energies, the quicker we are going to be able to witness emergent properties in the global consciousness and move forward into a more intentional society.
If you are moved by these thoughts, stimulated in your soul, experience a resonant desire to connect with other evolutionary spirits, or are otherwise activated as an agent for conscious change, please consider forwarding this or re-posting it in the social forum of your choice. It seems that anything we can do to nurture conscious evolution throughout our species and the energies that contribute to it's greater expression within our societies can only be of service to each other. So go ahead and support this if it resonates with you by sharing it around. That's why I make my music available for free as it feels like a facet of the service that I have to offer. Of course if you want to offer me something more for it, or help it along by sharing it around, I truly appreciate it from the depths of my heart as it helps this expression find it's way into the world.
With much love,
Eric Geoffrey

Thats awesome
I myself am a musician too. I have always felt that music serves a deeper purpose in our human experience, with somewhat of an awakening in our mind. My friends and I always just jam and improvise and let everything flow as we play, like water rushing down a stream. Next time I play for people, I'm gonna try and play with the intention of conscious evolution/rebirth! Hopefully some minds in the audience will experience something.
Peace
Music
Though unfortunately I do not play any instrument to express my inner vibrations, I relate my feelings of music's influence through words. In this poem I attempt to capture the expression you gain through instruments of music
Music
Absorbed into the magic - of the song
Forgetting all that makes life wrong
Into this mystical world I forever long
This is where I feel - most strong
Vibrations frequency vibrate my being
Optic nerve’s creation becomes seeing
Brain neurons make it all believing
Into the nether world - I am bleeding
Lost into dimensions thought not to exist
Why others fail to notice, strive to resist
To delve into submission - to the bliss
Given by the music - vibration - so easy to enlist
Flowing through endless universal realms
Gravity’s weight loss - no longer being held down
Unrestrained – floating - unbound
Contentment of being - and more - is found.

Thanks
I am glad you like it and coming from a musician to one who is not, knowing that I struck a `chord' of resonance, is gratifying. Music is the essence of everything as everything is the product of vibration's frequency subject to interpretation of the listener/receptor to a reality of their making, not necessarily to be consistent with that of its creator

Deeper Dimensions
through music has always been my source of inspiration when performing live or jamming with friends, always serving the religion of creativity....GREAT post!!!
I dig it
I believe you all might be interested in the ancient art and science of Kirtan, call and response devotional sanskrit chanting, although it doesn't have to be sanskrit, and you don't have to believe in anything. I get elevated to a higher plane of consciousness every time I chant... Shanti!
