On 20 October, 2010, I chose to embark upon what turned out to be one of the deepest and most intense shamanic, visionary journeys of my life. During the course of this inner adventure I experienced the most integral inner alignment I have ever even suspected was possible, and also a most unifying involvement with universal coherence. All in all it was thoroughly empowering, and now that over two months have "passed" I am still digesting the perspectives and insights that were gained. For me it was the latest experience of bridging the gap between knowing something intellectually, and then participating in the knowing directly, so that the knowing becomes less cerebral and increasingly grounded in the body.

After close to what turned out to be five hours of being rooted, literally, I gradually returned to my body and made my way back through the woods to my cabin, where I had prepared the infrastructure for the possibility of translating the journey into sound should I be so moved to do so. I was.

In such a state I utilize a floor looping pedal. For those of you who aren't familiar with such things, it is a device that allows a player to record an instrument being played "on the fly", and in real time play it right back. In this way layers of sound can be built up, and one person can end up sounding like an ensemble of musicians. There are no pre-recorded sounds at all in what you hear on this collection. Everything was a direct and spontaneous creation in relation to the energies present during the course of that evening.

I have edited beginning and ending points, but other than that what you hear in this album is a direct recording from the evening of the 20th, and I am still thrilled at what came through. There are a couple of themes that seem to be very present, and though they have presented themselves before to me in the past, have never been explored as they were this night.
