I'll be visiting New York for the first time August 5th to 14th. Besides going to the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, I plan to spend a lot of time rollerblade dancing in Central Park. I would love to see a show or meet my favorite musician David Byrne but I doubt he will take my call. I will also check out local spores/events/meetings.

Please let me know of any events or places or people I should see on this rare trip to the other coast.

Caravan of Dreams would be my vote

If you like raw/vegan food, are in the neighborhood, and have $20 (though $30 is more delicious) to spend on a meal, my favorite Manhattan restaurant is Caravan of Dreams:

The atmosphere's gypsy-chill and the consciousness is sparkling.

Have a good time! I love NYC, love getting lost in all the intersecting lives there. I lived in Brooklyn for a time, it was a beautiful struggle.
