Hey everyone maybe you could help me!{I'm going to keep it short and to-the-point}

Right now I'm sitting at the Omega Institute, a very conscious and spiritually inclined school that promotes awareness and diversity. As a volunteer I get to be a part of the community, live and eat for free and to take part in a multitude of lectures and classes. Its a pretty sweet deal!
I'm enjoying and learning a lot from my stay.
Yet it is a bubble, only particular types of people come here, participants generally have a pre-existing interest in spirituality and are well-to-do financially. The same could be said of Evolver, it could be diversified and opened up to people that wouldn't normally come across it.

We all leave the bubble sometimes.....For some more rarely than others. I myself hop from community to community talking with and learning from the inhabitants of each place. I've stayed safe by staying with peaceful minded expansive individuals. But I'm finding myself thinking: "What about all the time in-between?" The times I find myself at a gas station, airport, Wal-Mart or supermarket. No matter how much time I spend in community I still end up at these places, I still find myself talking to my relatives, and I too often feel disconnected by living an "alternative" life-style.

I put a big EVERYWHERE, all caps in the title up top. How do we spread our memes, our precious information and means of expansion in the places where they do not seem to fit? How do we inject the main-stream and let it push the dominos of awakening for us?
Post ideas here, I think it will be good to talk about different means of doing this and then polish ideas in the regional forums.

I'm proposing a rather humble project, and I am hoping there are many people already doing it. I am going to create stickers and drop them{ not stick them up} wherever I go to be picked up by whoever happens to see them, question them or want to take them. The sticker will be artwork, beautiful and simple surrounded by a few important URLS.
I'd also like to ask you all what you think the URLS could be. Lets say I'm limiting it to three or four, what websites in your opinion are the MOST important for the general public to see?

1. Evolver.net :)
2. growfood.org ?
3. couchsurfing.org?
4. I really feel like I don't know about them all please clue me in!

Thanks guys.

Be the change. Spread the word!

yes

self-dis-covery.blogspot.com!

haha. I love your idea. This is what Evolver needs to get on to. Well, after we get on a common vision though.

Peace!

ys.
No, seriously: self-dis-covery.blogspot.com

Yeah common vision!!! that

Yeah common vision!!! that is essential but... oh well I see that so far from happening.... anyway I like your idea too and the concept even more... not only are we in a bubble,,, this bubble is about to burst... IMHOP I see Evolver more of a philosophical movement than anything else... not activist, nor environmentalist, etc...
going back to the matter... how do we spread the word with others that don't necessarily jive with this ""philosophy""" ... and it's not just knowing what websites to visit but also what is going to resonate with them... some of the stuff posted here for example is way to nebulous or out there for,, let's say a household, or a republican lawyer/ real state, etc... and in my opinion a group or movement to succeed and go to the next stage needs to have people from all the sorts not just mind expansive, peaceful oriented and so on ans so forth...
so here is my contribution CHPS.net which stands for Collaborative for High Performance Schools... this to appeal for the more mains-stream oriented ppl...

Thanks

hmmmm...

thanks for replying!
I think evolver has a very b r o a d common vision or theme: that of possibility and expansion and of openmindedness.....
very b r o a d no ;) but I think it might be good this way.

Brilliant idea!

I hate to be unoriginal, but i think that this idea of yours is EXCELLENT, and i would love to do the same thing in my area, but have no idea how to make stickers-

how exactly are you going about creating them?

And perhaps adding reality sandwich onto your website list might allow for people to brows freely throughout the multitude of subjects presented there and hopefully find something that resonates

thanks for this great post!

thanks

probably going to talk to Nemo : http://r6xx.com/
He gives good deals to artists and is an exceptional character...
I don't know how environmentaly friendly the process of sticker production is but I imagine its worth it to spread good info...

nice

I don't have time to read the forums right now but this looks like a really good resource!

gurilla proliferation of knowledge

the prospect of stickers appeals to my highly.

-you could consider posting your address on Evolver once you have them printed. Evolvers could then mail you an envelope inside of an envelope with say, a dollar inside, so they can proliferate the stickers to a wider demographic then you could alone.

-photo sharing of found stickers on say flickr could be a way of generating momentum as well.

-if you design the stickers formatted to an 8"x11" of sticker paper then people could print / cut them out and stick them wherever(not outside though as they would not repel water)

maybe Evolver bumper stickers?

very true

This isn't just for me the project could involve many people.....I'm pretty good at designing so I'll design a couple.
Printing them yourself is not the easiest deal but whoever wants to attempt it by all mean go for it!
I'll probably get them printed by my friend Nemo: http://r6xx.com/
Nemo is awsome.
The lowest number for a print is 1,000 stickers I think....but maybe after they get printed they can be delivered off to different places....

we'll see...I probably won't finish designs until mid July.
Or jump in and other people design too! maybe post and show us visual ideas too...

yessss

I love this post.

Not just evolver stickers, but guerilla art.

Throw up flyers questioning reality, smashing the establishment, feeding the mind. Everywhere, anywhere. The more random/unsuspecting a place to put conscious stuff, the bigger the effect on the person. Often people will build up defenses in their mind when they think they might be challenged. In this sense, the type of people who will follow the url will be self-selecting (of course people will go, or some anyway), but if we put up posters, etc, etc in random places, random people who wouldnt normally go to a site like evolver could see some good ideas.

Slip the pill in while they're sleepwalking, shake and wake

smashing suggestion, apok

if anyone was willing to start a system like that, i'd love to send a letter with some cash inside to get some stickers...

this is where the revolution truly begins...

a few pieces of food for thought

wonderful.

the company Volcom, now an international skate, snow, and surf company started as a sticker company.

people love to put stickers on their belongings that depict to those that know the symbol or significance of the sticker, their inclusion in a special club.

a very impactful image I saw recently on the web was a pin up job poster with tear off tabs. the poster said 'YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE' and the tabs said 'I WILL'.

google poster paste and you will find the recipe for adhering aforementioned posters to almost any surface.

whyprohibition.ca is an anti marijuana site and they have a bank of printable flyers- we should do the same for Evolver.

Emphasis

So I'm thinking I want there to be less emphasis on controversey or philosophy in links and more USEFULLNESS, for example grow-food.org is where you can find farming internships and couchsurfing allows you to travel without going to the hotels, you know to get a more human feeling.
Maybe some people don't even know such a thing exists and would feel really good to see the welcoming openness of other people.

but this is also just me :p I love the utilitarian aspects of the internet and of evolver

peace!
