The Movement Activates: An Update on the Evolution

Since its March launch, the Evolver Social Movement has activated more than 10 new local Spores, sent several key speakers of the consciousness movement across our growing network, and introduced the world to the first therianthropic petroglyph by Alex Grey. Here’s an update of the latest in the front lines of “the evolution.”
On the regional front, Evolver Long Beach recently launched a local time bank and Evolver Baltimore is shepherding a new complementary currency, the B-Note. Spores have cleaned up the Chattahoochee River near Atlanta, helped create a community orchard in Bloomington, facilitated women’s moon gatherings in Philadelphia, organized gift circles in SF, coordinated local foresting in LA, and assisted flood victims in Hungary. Our newest Spores additions include Calgary, Toronto, Cusco, Des Moines, Omaha, Budapest, and Pittsburgh. This brings the number of active Spores to over 40.
In August, we held our first Sporeganizer Summit in Upstate New York to map out our game plan for 2011. We will continue to grow the Spore network, while developing models for permanent Evolver hubs, as well as coordinate a large-scale E+SM convergence for the Evolver tribes on the East Coast. We hope that E+SM members will come to this convergence, and we will have special discount tickets available in advance to honor our members’ commitment to the movement.
In addition to our local and international actions, we are busy spreading viral memes and messages of transformation into the noosphere. The documentary “2012: Time for Change,” directed by Joao Amorim and featuring Daniel Pinchbeck as narrator and interviewer, has been reaching a nationwide audience, thanks to the efforts of the Evolver/Reality Sandwich community. This film features Evolver ideas and gatherings and functions as a marketing vehicle for the movement.
We’ve created an Evolver Editions imprint with North Atlantic Books to highlight voices of the emergent planetary culture, debuting next fall with books by Reality Sandwich authors Jose Arguelles, Patrick Harpur, and others.
Here is an E+SM sneak peak from Jose Arguelles’ “Manifesto for the Noosphere,” one of our lead titles in Fall 2011: “We have to imagine that the structural basis of the entire planetary social order is reorganized so that the highest priority is given to artistic expression, not just individual artistic expression but to collective artistic expression as well. In today’s economic terms art is not just an activity practiced during leisure time, it is the very essence of all human activity including economic. This means the human is no longer a passive consumer of entertainment but an active participant in the whole co creative process of being alive in the universe. This shift in the fundamental existential role of the human in the natural order is accompanied by a heightened activity of the psychic being, of the expansion of paranormal powers hitherto only dimly perceived or even unknown.”
Our new Evolver Podcast is receiving 30,000+ listens on the web, featuring interviews with Gary Lachman, Richard Smoley, Isabella Stoloff, Raymond Wiley, Adam Elenbaas, and more. The host of the podcast, Evolver Sacramento’s Chris Hopkins, just celebrated the birth of the first “Evolver Baby,” Sage, on October 15 (Chris met his wife at a Spore).
Starting in January, we will expand the Evolver Intensives teleseminar series in partnership with the producers of the popular Prophets Conferences. We will offer new online courses each month, hosted by Jeremy Narby, Andrew Harvey, and John Perkins, among others. Members of the Evolver Social Movement will receive special discounts.

Our Dimensional Shift Retreat in Boulder, Utah brought Evolvers together with Graham Hancock, Alex and Allyson Grey, and our Reality Sandwich editorial team. Along with the breathtaking hikes, paradigm-shifting talks, and gifting amongst attendees, one of the main highlights involved the Greys creating a permanent therianthrope petroglyph (based on Hancock’s work) at the ranch, while Evolver SF’s Regina Gelfo led us in an ecstatic dance ceremony.
This autumn, E+SM went mobile when several of our Reality Sandwich contributors started traveling across the network, including Adam Elenbaas (“Fishers of Men”), Graham Hancock (“Entangled”), Charles Shaw (“Exile Nation”), Michael Garfield (“Sketches of an Emerging Human Mythos”), and Daniel Pinchbeck (“Notes from the Edge Times”).
Evolver’s Creative Director Michael Robinson talked about E+SM at his “Transformational Culture in the Digital Age: The Designer as Shaman” discussion with 5,000 graphic designers at the Trimarchi Deseno Graphico conference in Argentina. And Evolver director Jonathan Talat Phillips has been traveling the festival circuit (and Evolver Salt Lake City) with his presentation, “Opening the World’s Heart Chakra: Energy, Sacred Geometry, and the Evolver Social Movement.”
We will soon be offering book and CD giveaways to E+SM members, as well as an early release of the “Evolver Mix Tape: Long Beach Edition,” a collection of songs by DJs and musical acts, put together by L.B.’s Sporeganizer Tony Damico.
Thanks to everyone across the network. Together we are co-creating something new and amazing, a global community dedicated to building a truly regenerative planetary culture, and sharing our resources, talents, ideas, and dreams to build a better, more resilient, and joyfully playful world.
We at Evolver and Reality Sandwich are grateful to all of the Evolver Social Movement members for supporting the growth of this grassroots network and helping to build a new model of interdependent media. We are still in a transitional time and we depend on your help to allow this emergent culture to take root and grow.
For those who haven’t become an E+SM member, we invite you to join the evolution and co-create the world you want to see.

Hey
is are there any thoughts on an Evolver bus that could travel to spores and events and create interactive environments with consciousness technologies like biofeedback and Random Event Generators? Consciousness workshops? I'd be into helping this idea get going if others are interested...
Possible ways to accelerate the movement -
I wonder if anyone is interested in this idea - outfit an old schoolbus to be an Evolver bus for spreading awareness of the movement and provide tangible techniques and technologies for exploring consciousness. I'm thinking Random Event Generators, biofeedback, shamanic drumming, breathwork, a portable temple of sacred geometry, all rolled into a traveling production. Anyone interested? It doesn't sound like an insurmountable expense, with a bit of labor and thought.... and it would be a trance-formative way to get our work out there! jedimindtraveler@gmail.com
The Green Bus
Hi Jedi,
We sometimes work with The Green Bus and they've talked about doing a tour across the US and parts of Canada through the Spore network. I'd be happy to put you in touch with Charlie, the bus' coordinator if you're interested in collaborating with them on some Evolver fun.
Best,
Jonathan
This is wonderful...
and I am grateful to be part of this expanding network of cosmic thinkers and artists. In 2011 I plan to become very active with evolver spores in NY area and beyond....Namaste!
