9. Brought world-wide attention on the plight of the homeless people and drug addicts, transformed many of their lives, and provided a new way of working with them that is more integrative and that treats them as peers

11. Created a worldwide sharing economy with food services, medical services, counselling, bike repair, workshops, talks, accomodations, music, dance, media, libraries, goods exchange that is worth the equivalent of billions of dollars. Is also inspiring many sharing projects outside encampments.

12. Provided a place for many different social actions to create awareness and attract new people. Its energized many different issues. It is helping people to see the links between the many different types of social movements.

13. Networked people and organizers across many different demographics and sectors of society.

14. Provided natural and manmade diaster relief training. If diaster does hit, many communities now know how to self-organize into self-supportive systems.

15. Provided a new model of social activism based on networks of local places where people can gather to share information, activate and strategize in non-hierarchical ways.

16. Is inspiring the creation of new forms of mass media that are not owned by the wealthy and the elite.

These are some really important and exciting accomplishments!
Especially items 14,15, &16. Americans have been both resentful of government but also always looking to find some new leader to solve their problems.
I think we are learning WE are our OWN leader to solve our problems.
