DESTRUCTION:
Does this look like destruction to you? Last night I have been very aggressively told by my (ex)landlady's 2 brothers that i have destroyed their lawn. I came to this 'Celtic Tiger house' 5 years ago blown away by the amount of space('reclaimed' lawn). Seeing as i am a boy from Holland where space like this is unheard off for somebody of my 'background' soon after i moved in here with my family the urge to connect and grow has been very large, along the way i learned a lot of new and untraditional methods of turning a blank canvas in an edible landscape that regenerates forever if you let it go .

2010 has been a bit of a whirlwind of emotions, experiences ,new feelings and discovering myself. Now; bankrupted, heavily indebted, and therefore for the first time in 5 years found myself in rent arrears during December. After a lot of abuse, Trespassing and abusive behavior towards me ; the 'peasant tenant'. I decided to move on to another place. My landlady obviously also heavily indebted decided to send her two bully brothers to intimidate me and blame me for all their woes because i have 'destroyed' 1/15 of their lawn(which by the way is not visible from the road). Destroyed in this sense means a small little eco system that provided my family(and more) and my humble little food cart with supplies.
When trying to defend this, all i got is that it will take years to reseed the lawn, what do you do in a situation like this?
I've had a lot of dark thoughts over the past 24 hours but the conclusion is that there cannot be light without darkness.
The past year has seen my life falling apart(family, business, stress, insecurity)
Funnily enough however i also see a part of me getting stronger which is the light within and the fact that there is hope. It is great to know that there is communities like this one where people look at other options and doors to open. When i focus on this strong light from within i can see the result within moments and i straight away attract a new environment .

I cant wait to move into my 'house' that has seen Ireland's famine's, revolutions and 'Celtic tiger-ism', not really sure yet how i;m going to pay my rent yet for February but I'll cross that bridge when i get there. This farmer loves my plans for a garden and has 'given' me a field next door to express my light within. Let's hope he likes my' untraditional' methods.
The earth is all i have and my love for her is immense.

Keep growing

First of all, I'm sorry you had such a negative experience with your ex-landlady. In my hometown of Long Beach, California the city is actually paying residents (by the square foot!) to convert their grass lawns into edible and/or low-water landscaping. It is so much better for mother Earth! Hopefully your experience will open some people's minds to the issue.

I hope you keep gardening/farming at your new place, and please post pictures. As you pointed out you are creating little ecosystems that sustain not only your family, but also countless other beings. Thanks for sharing. Namaste.
