In my favourite book and companion since 10 years, The journey into consciousness by Charles Breaux, one very interesting thing is said about opening one's heart chakra. It says that contrary to what one might think, opening one's heart chakra can lead to angry or even hateful reactions from one's surroundings, instead of more love or compassion from others.
This is because the resonance from an open/opening heart chakra touches the heart chakra of those who surround you, which will in turn touch the emotional/spiritual wounds of they have. This hurts them and might make them lash out against the person who is opening their heart chakra - seemingly without sense and reason. Maybe this is what is happening on Evolver.
Lately there has been a lot of anger and personal attacks here on Evolver, and it is making people tired. But hey guys, I think this is a necessary part of the process. Many Evolvers are spreading a lot of awareness and love, and this will attract people who need it, and they will not always be "healed" already. And they are also a part of the process, a maybe sometimes irritating but necessary part of the work that we are here for - healing ourselves and others, letting love into the world, restoring balance in this crazy time.
Charles Breaux recommends in his book to just ignore people who show angry and crazy behaviour patterns towards an opening/open heart chakra, at least until one feels really ready, strong enough and have the time and energy to face a lot of verbal (or other) abuse. Maybe ignorance this is not always the right way, but hey - sometimes silence is really golden...
When we do choose to get into discussions where conflicts emerge we need to remember that we are all wearing masks. Remember that a spiritual awakening can drive people crazy for a while, and that that person who seems so confused and mean today can wake up enlightened tomorrow. Remember the wisdom of Ganesha - nothing and nobody are what they seem to be, it is all appearance.
Ganesha is known as the remover of obstacles because he sees through Samsara and knows that the obstacles are in our minds. The word "Gana" in sanskrit means group, people or community, and the word "Isha" means lord or master. Ganesha is thus the "master of the community", probably since he sees that in the end the masks of "you" and "me" are just that - masks. The elephant head of Ganesha reflects this wisdom.
The Tamil name for Ganesha is Pille or Pillayar, meaning young child. This tells us that Ganesha is the elephant child, an symbol of how true wisdom (the elephant) brings the innocence of a child (one without experience) back into an experienced Being. I think this innocence mainly comes from the realisation that we truly are One.
And One Being needs all its Parts. Lets remember that, and be nice to each other =)
I love You.

Yes, I completely resonate
Yes, I completely resonate with this.....in my journey, I encounter this phenomenon constantly hahaha.....I have taken the perspective that whatever comes up from those around me, is a challenge for me to react peacefully. Whatever anger, fear, irritation, I feel in response, generally forces me to deal with deep insecurities or psychic blockages. Sort of applying Goenka's vipassana technique to every human interaction.
Wow! Pain is a profound teacher.
Gwahaha hah!
Maybe this is what is happening on Evolver? Thank you for bringing the Elephant into the room!

lovely
thank you, Susan. I think your right on track talking about the heart chakra and our need to be understanding of how our opening can press against others woundedness. This message was timely for me.
I want to remember how very chaotic this process of awakening has somtimes been for me and be extra gentle with those who may appear the most difficult.
When i recollect where I have been, I know that what I have needed most was compassionate understanding. I feel very grateful that I know this and can articulate it and begin to practice that which I know is needed. <3
