Revolution. Evolution. Solution. What’s a Veggielution?

We are changing the way people eat. Every week community members come to the farm and work the land – learning gardening skills, building community, and growing food that goes to soup kitchens and our low cost Farmstand. Teenagers in our VeggieYouth program learn about nutrition, cooking, food justice, teamwork, and effective communication through working on the farm.

Veggielution has come a long way since our inception 3 years ago in backyard gardens near San Jose State University.
Veggielution empowers youth and adults from diverse backgrounds to create a sustainable food system in San Jose. Our urban farm engages the community by providing access to healthy and local food, creating youth leadership opportunities, and developing creative solutions to social and environmental justice issues.

We're not vegetarian per se

Hey Benjamin!

Thanks for checking us out. You've just asked the number 1 FAQ about us!

We are not an organization promoting vegetarianism, but instead about reconnecting people with the food they eat, encouraging them to think about where it comes from, who grows it, how healthy it is, and all the other strands of our food experience.

For example, we have our second annual, sumptuous, three-course, wine-matched and locally sourced fundraiser dinner, the Bounty of Heart's Delight (tickets $100 at www.bountyofheartsdelight.org) on September 11. The fabulous pork on the menu comes from TLC Ranch in Watsonville, the flour and wheatberries come from our friends Pie Ranch in Pescadero, and olive oil is coming from Mission San Jose. We will, of course, have vegetarian dishes.

Excellent!

Excellent!

The Veggielution concept is about sustainable farming.

There is much more to be learned about the relationship of soil to plant then just vegetarianism. Also it would be a mistake to lean too heavily on the word “organic” thinking automatically signifies healthfulness. The Veggielution concept is about sustainable farming.

excellent

what you are doing, living, is exactly the action necessary for real change. It's all about community. Multiple you times 1 million and 'we could change the face of Arrakis". And female warrior, good to have some incite into your everyday life. You are a delight.
