Local Resiliency and the Collective Threat of the Gulf Oil Spill
Dragonfly2012

British Petroleum has a long history of opting for shortcuts rather than spending on safety or protecting the environment. While it is disturbing to think that no significant technology has been developed to handle this kind of crisis, it is comforting to know that perhaps the best solutions for cleaning up the spill come from Gaia herself.

Gulf Oil Spill: Could Gush for Years. Time to RISE UP.

At a time when Evolver.net Spores across the world gear up to explore and discuss local resiliency, one city’s suffering reminds us that even as we defend ourselves, we are a global family and that another’s suffering is also our own.

About Me

Bio

"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"--Mary Oliver.

"The price of self-destiny is never cheap, and in certain situations it is unthinkable. But to achieve the marvelous, it is precisely the unthinkable that must be thought. " -Tom Robbins

Keeping these words in mind, I try to relinquish my fear of my own potential, and rise up in everything I do... trusting that the destiny I choose will help to shift the consciousness and ignite true change for the Earth.

I've lived primarily on the west coast, spending time in Chico, CA, Bend and Portland, OR... more recently Los Angeles, and am now in New Oreans, LA. I'm a Regional Coordinator for Evolver NOLA, and am involved with Burners Without Borders, Project Butterfly, and the Lower Ninth Ward Village.

I am going to college for Environmental Science and create feather jewelry for a living-- Sisters of One Tribe-- while working relentlessly for Gaia.
