Deleting Vocabulary

Before the word "racism" was created (to create a word means everyone must agree upon the definition in order to use a word... or some people in "power" decide and everyone "must" agree), what were acts of hatred because of skin color? Certainly not isolated events, but not a conspiracy such as racism. Not a cause for anybody to stand behind or against. Not the cause of more acts of hatred because of skin color!
Before the word "jealousy," what was the feeling that you wanted something that someone else had? Just a feeling, something you might not even acknowledge-- but not something that would define you, making it inescapable.
Before "power"... How does one finish that sentence? Power is an illusion, attained by fabricating it. (An original? aphorism I blurted out last night: "You get what you want by pretending you already have it.") So before "power," EQUALITY? LOVE? UNITY? (Probably.)
Before "loathing," could there even be deep hatred without the struggle for "power"?
I hope you get the picture... [Sorry, tangent worth reading: So much of the human experience is not physical, tangible, and so language is used to classify EVERYTHING, as it is (sadly) the only way in which we can communicate the intangible, and it is ceaselessly reductive. Certainly, to share an experience with another must communicate more than to talk of an experience with another.]
So finally, I propose an experiment! If you've made it to this point, follow through; make a list of all the negative feelings you experience, the causes of negative actions and thoughts. Then simply delete those words from your vocabulary. Perhaps I shouldn't say "simply," because it may not be simple for everyone, but if you WANT to, it's really quite easy to condition yourself. Think Pavlov.
Negative things will still happen in your life because there are still those around you who haven't changed their vocabulary (and thus their life), but you must remain true to you-- if you cannot react negatively (without your negative vocabulary), but a situation does not warrant any positive reaction, neutrality is the best way to go. You will know you've truly deleted negativity from your vocabulary and life when you almost fail to notice the negativity, thus it does not affect you, and therefore ISN'T REAL!! =]
And in the end, if you can manage to bring a smile to your face, you'll be ok!
