Late in the year 2011, where the world has reached a place of decision; a place where all things are truly possible and all things are truly at risk. This is a time of transformation and destruction. A time of conscience opportunity or the same old same old. Do we have a choice? Is it all preordained? Mass hysteria is preordained. Individually, we have a choice.
I love Daniel Pinchbeck. I feel real kinship with him and many of his ideas. And it may be true that from one angle of thought the 'Global Revolution' may indeed be underway.
It's been all over the news but no one I have heard has mentioned the obvious surreal synchronicities of the attempted assassination of Gabrielle Gifford and the murder of six other people on January 8. What does this mean? Birds falling from the sky. The government and scientists rush to create 'their' explanation. For some reason this story shakes me to the core of my being. There's something wrong here. Maybe there is some scientific explanation, some chemical or explosion or disease. Or perhaps it is something else; apocalyptic, prophetic, transitional, inevitable.
Much has been written here on Evolver about our creative contribution to the task of helping fellow sojourners on the long road towards a more awakened state of consciousness. I hope the following commentary will help in our common quest.
Could it be that the inner workings of our body and the outer manisfestations of our psychology are reflections of an ordered universe? Could it be that what we know as astrology today, newspaper horoscopes and internet fortunetellers, is a perversion of a respected and verifiable science of an astrology of the distant past?
Is this enough
Is seventy years enough
Or seven thousand
Or seven million
Is annilhilation of our Individuality inevitable
Are we once and no more
Is truth conceivable facing annilhilation
Annilhilation and oblivion consume
Stifling hope
Narrowing vision
And the result
Now gratification
Immediate grasping
Unemotional, vain, empty
Pouring the empty into the Void...

We are the ones we have been waiting for." — Hopi elders
