The Greatest Gift

Of all of the greatest gifts that I know
The most wonderful gift I think anyone could bestow
Through a glowing example conveyed vividly consistent
Would be to teach another to rise ecstatically in Love with their own existence

For as children learn by mimicking what they see
So too do adults from a soul that is free
A dog’s tail wags quite readily in the presence of such a glow
Even plants respond proudly as human radiance is allowed to show

Not in pursuit of recognition or self stimulation
Not narcissistically gloating or with auto infatuation
But to see one’s own signature of character worn
By a world filled with beauty, and wondrous form

To know that this world is flourishing a bit more by your touch
To breathe deep with satisfaction because you loved it this much
Because you’ve dissolved calloused behavior, ridicule, and rejection
And replaced them with caring and compassionate connection

Because you’ve accepted your role as Benevolent Co-Creator
In the sculpting of Heaven’s magnificent Theater
So that the players may play and the flowers may bloom
So that Peace know It’s Day and that Lovers may swoon

To know that every living creature has been graced by your life
Whether you touched them directly or by ripples of Light
As your heart breathes the satisfaction of a virtuous berth
You hold the gift of a heritage of unfathomable worth

And the reveling Justice that adorns such a gift
Is that in order to teach someone that it is themselves they must lift
You are required to abide such tenants ordained
For you cannot give that which you have not yet attained

Thus of all the most wonderful gifts that I know
The most precious gift that I would like to bestow
Through a shinning example conveyed vividly consistent
Is to teach you to rise ecstatically in Love with your own existence

And as you learn, my dear friend, indeed so shall I
As we soar lto the Heavens free as birds, on high
Learning to grow and Loving to lift
Compelled by the bestowing of Life’s most miraculous gift
