I, like many others, have decided to sign up for the $10 monthly donation. I'm giving back not just because our administrators need to pay the bills, but also because I believe it will further motivate me to start my own evolution.

I joined this site about two months ago, initially because I wanted to share some of my ideas/stories with the community, as well as read what other people were doing to make change happen. What drew me to evolver was not just the so-called 'New Age' concepts and ideals which the site gives attention to, but also the fact that the Evolver concept intends to get people off their computers and effect change at the REAL WORLD level.

Of course, often this is easier said than done. You can sit at your computer, read a bunch of these blog posts, and feel like you're jamming your head full of cool and unique ideas. However, I know most of the time when I get off of this site, I don't go out and do what I feel needs to be done...I want to become a sustainable, eco-conscious individual, but I haven't actually done a whole lot to achieve that goal.

Which is why I've decided to donate the $10 a month to this website. I am donating to help out those that run these sites, yes. BUT, first and foremost, I am donating for my own personal benefit. I believe that by giving a consistent stream of money to this site, I will be consciously and unconsciously motivated to achieve my goals of living in a sustainable community that empowers all of us as a result.

I am a broke college student working a minimum wage job. While all the advertising campaigns on campus tell me to spend my money on clothes, gadgets, beer, bars, etc. I am choosing to spend my money on something worthwhile.

I am not giving my money just to keep this site going. I am giving money because I myself want to stay on track in terms of my own goals. Maybe you don't need this as a motivator to give like I do, as you are already feel you are on track to reaching whatever you want from this movement. But I know that investing in something, no matter how small, will personally change how you see yourself within this movement.

Here's to the future Mt. Pleasant Michigan spore!
