About Me

Bio

In August of 2008 I started the Red Door Gallery and Collective in the Art Murmur district of downtown Oakland, a collective of 12 artist/poet/performers with a vision of art to transform both individuals and communities. Our studio gallery exhibited art from various community service organizations, while our main gallery showcased transformative artists from around the country. I served as a creative director and was one of the featured artists. What we pioneered in 2008 has now become standard practice -- integrating into visual art openings the talents of a community of artists, poets and performers, thus changing the paradigm of the typical stuffy,20th-century art openings.
I am now serving as President and Executive Director of Star Mountain School of Liminal Arts, based in Oakland, California.

Skills and talents
My art practice is inextricably linked with my 38 years of discipline and study in both eastern and western forms of alchemy – the alchemy of personal growth and transformation. It is informed by ancient and modern Lightwork practices, alchemy, tai chi, qigong, and a 4-day solo wilderness vision quest.
