A Pagan Dancing with Wolves

I have always felt like I was raised by wolves, the other night I found myself bathing in the starlight under a full moon that lit up an entire forest. As the animal inside of me looks up to the moon I embody the wolf spirit, and begin to howl. To my surprise a pack of wolves had been hiding in the shadows all the while, as they hear my call they too begin to howl. The moon in these few moments is the brightest it has ever been, or at least the brightest that I had ever noticed. The clouds seem to be plump with moonlight which then over flood and soon the entire valley is awash with light.

The fake light and sound pollution of the modern day fear based society is cutting us off from our true essence, which can only be found in nature. Only in those moments of awe when I have an overwhelming sense of power and gratitude for being part of such a glorious universe can I listen to my intuition and have a better understanding of my path. It is said that shamans practice many ceremonies at night because that is when the spirit worlds are most alive, when the unknown seems to become visible. Why is it that we are afraid of the dark? What fears would we face if we decided to explore the darkness? What wonderment will we find? There should be no fear of nature, I was always a "pagan" or by definition "a country dweller" it is my natural state, my initiation and where my spirit flourishes. The more I am in nature the more I begin to realize the natural "law of the land", to appreciate the natural flow of things. The city makes us feel separate even though there are more humans to relate to, we find that there is something missing, the last element of the equation that has kept us up a many sleepless night. It is time for all of us to find our animal nature, find our power animals, inner peace, comfort and power.

The silence is leaving if you don't jump out and claim it, intuition being replaced by institution, starlight replaced by energy saving light bulbs. Do as the great philosophers, sages, and mystic's have said "Let go", the life you were born to live will follow. Dancing was always the solution, so simple. Find yourself in nature, and understand your essential part in it, what will follow is the realization that all the answers you have been searching for in books, school, and life, were always inside of you, and the wonderment in the simplest of things was all you were ever really searching for.
