Making things happen

It has been a while since I have taken up the pen and scrawled down my essence on a piece of parchment. Too long, perhaps. In the months that I was away from one of my passions, I did a lot of gestating. The last attempt at writing that came from me ended up getting cut apart about half way through because I decided it would be interesting to see how effective of a spiritual catalyst throwing myself into the pits of a self constructed hell were.
The good news is, it is a wonderful catalyst.
The basis of this work is a collection of my personal observations, observations of other people that I took on myself, observed and then decided to keep and the writings of a few wonderful, beautiful people.
As a short little disclaimer, these thoughts are my own and while I find them to be rather powerful and fascinating, they are by no means the be all end all of the mystery of existence. If they resonate with you, by all means, play around with them for a while. I think that if all religious, spiritual or philosophical texts had little disclaimers in the beginning we would probably live in a more peaceful world, (And there would probably be a much larger number of the indigenous peoples of nearly every continent.)
The first chapter is going to be released quite a bit before the others (I still have a LOT of studying to do. More on that later.) and deals with “How to make things happen.” Contrary to popular belief, one can write 1000 page texts on how to “Make things happen” and STILL not even scratch the surface. “Making things happen” is one of the practical uses of Magick. Not casting fireballs.
Though it would be killer if one could conjure up a fireball. I hope I have a dream about throwing fireballs tonight.
As a final little bit of info on this writing – I am writing it sort of like a journal. As I study in depth into an area of exploration I will log my understandings in here. I like to write in a dialogue form, when I say you the you I am referring to is, in all likelyhood, me. You can take it as a you if you want, though. A you you, not a me you. Hopefully by the end of this it will be a cool little grimoire of information on everything from Atlantis to Alchemy to Herbalism to the history of Zionism. And everything in between. Now, without further ado, I am going to ramble.
Making things happen is, seemingly, an easy process. Your arm moves, and then you pick up the pencil. Scribble a smiley face. Realize, after finishing your little masterpiece, that you haven’t been paying attention for the last 15 minutes and you have no clue what the teacher is saying.
In that little situation, we just exerted our willpower over the little utensil called a pencil and made a lovely smiley face. A very geometrically accurate one, because it took 15 minutes to construct. Doing things isn’t hard. So, what about the things that are a little bit larger? Retiring to New Zealand, Mastering an instrument or, heaven forbid, talking with Aliens. In order to delve into the seemingly more complicated tasks, we have to explore the simpler aspects behind them.
Everything exists, or at least the illusion of everything exists. Thusly, we have something that is there. Infinite, receptive potentiality. Our canvas, if you will. Things move. Constant motion. Our generation, more than any other in the history of our species, knows motion. We are familiar with it. In our lives we will probably see and gather hundreds, if not thousands times as many unique experiences than our (average) predecessors. If we wanted to, we could find out what is happening on the complete opposite side of the world. Right now. Oh hey, today “Wen” discussed his belief in the strength of the Chinese Yuan. No devaluation there!
So, we have infinite potentiality and motion. The motion, as best I understand it, is the channeling of intelligent energy into the “canvas” of infinite potentiality.
Intelligent infinity and Intelligent energy. Together they make the whole, the whole of which is the fact that the illusion of everything being in front of us is, even if it is illusion, taking place.
Now that we have those two terms defined, we can start delving into the wonderful properties of the whole. Lest I get ahead of myself, I am going to keep things pretty narrowly towards what the chapter is supposed to be concerning: doing stuff.
We, as beings existing within this wonderful little matrix, have the ability to harness both the intelligent infinity and the intelligent energy. This process is alluded to in many, many spiritual texts: Be it the Gnostic books of Christianity, the Tao Te Ching, Musashi’s book of Five Rings, or any of the New Age texts that you find on the bookshelves. We have both sides of the coin and if we can tap into the latent power within the whole of the coin, we can buy a gumball at the mall. Any flavor.
The first preparations are made, of course, by cleaning out the insides of the self. Self doubt and thoughts of inadequacy and undeservedness are cancers that keep the whole, “making things happen thing” from happening. They serve as dams, keeping the flow of the energy from taking place. I will give an example later.
A marker is set within the field of intelligent infinity. “I want to be an Astronaut,” “I want to journey all over the world,” or, “I want to be a famous scientist.” Once the marker is set, if intelligent energy is allowed to make its course and you, the pilot, do not deviate from the intended target, victory is assured. The channeling of intelligent energy is simple in of itself – deciding you want to do something and then doing it. From that desire the universe constructs itself in such a way that various pieces of the puzzle come into your hands. Your only job is to take those pieces of puzzle and plug them into the proper places. If the eyes are kept open and the will is kept strong, forward movement within the ocean of existence is a given.
Now, one thing that the New Age movement doesn’t speak of much (Think “The Secret”) is that channeling intelligent energy requires you actually move. You can’t just think, “I AM an Astronaut, I AM an Astronaut, I AM an Astronaut,” and sit around playing video games all day hoping that high ranking NASA Officials will knock on your door and tell you you have won the Mars exploration lottery. You set the marker in the web of infinity and begin to swim towards it. Being an Astronaut is hard work. In todays society, you have to go through ALLL sorts of schoolin’, get selected and go through training. But if you set your mind to it, you can.
The silly thing is, we got told how to do things when we were little. “If We Use Our Minds, Take A Step At A TIME, We Can Do – Anything – That We WAAANA DO!” To quote Blue’s Clues. Unfortunately, as soon after society begins to imprint us with thoughts of not being able to do things. Subtley, but subtley being told you can’t do what you truly want to do over the course of ages 5 thru death still has a larger impact than people telling you from time to time that you can.
That brings me to the point I spoke of earlier – those damn energy blockages. Not thinking one’s self able, ready or deserving of what one truly wants. Laziness. Inability to get out and make the movements (Movement being the channeling of intelligent energy into the canvas of intelligent infinity) Building blocks come and then get passed by as you ignore that phone number you got because it didn’t really matter anyways. Or because… Well… Because… You don’t actually know why. You just didn’t call.
Sadly, that phone number could have been a link to the most valuable information you have ever received on your quest to attain whatever it was at the end of your quest.
The only factor in attaining any given goal is the constant movement towards that goal. Self sabotage is the key factor in not being able to attain those goals. All of the answers and all of the problems come from within.
This is one of the more fundamental aspects of Magick and many of the esoteric arts. Funny, how a kid’s show could state the basics of the magickal arts better than most full grown adults. Although the process of doing things sounds pretty simple (Decide to do something – do something) there are rather powerful metaphysical connotations to it. It is a process that we never stop learning, from birth to death. If you aren’t good at it now, you are in luck! You still have some time ahead of you to get good at it! If you are good at it, you are in luck! You still have some time ahead of you to get better at it!
Now that the metaphysics can of worms has been opened, I guess the time has come to get wacky. Gravity is wacky, dontcha think? I think so. So gravity is where I shall start.
Just what in the fuck is gravity, anyways? Is gravity magnetism? The forces seem similar, but when tests are conducted they prove to be different. Gravity, as believed by our current levels of understanding in science, is the force that pulls objects of lesser mass towards objects of greater mass. Now, gravity works on many levels. There is physical gravity. Jump, and ye shall return from whence ye came. Gravity also works on much stranger levels – interpersonal, regional, energetic, et cetera. This is all just using the scientific terms for gravity in other than (Currently understood) scientific ways, I suppose you could say. Interpersonal gravity – people recognize celebrities. Celebrities have, through their lives, careers and endeavors, imprinted themselves within the consciousness of plenty of humans. Thus, plenty of humans recognize said celebrity. Lady GaGa walks into a bar. People notice.
Regionally, gravity works much the same. Take New York city, for example. People flock there. Over the course of it’s existence, various factors (Largely the early banking systems and economics) came to play within the geographic area that is new York city. Over time, the world grew. Those early factors collected mass quickly, and now New York City is one of the economic capitals of the world. Not to mention the amount of people and raw existence there.
Energetically, like attracts like. Certain areas have a gravity about them. Certain chemicals have a gravity about them. The ingestion of entheogens is the voluntary allowance of an intelligent energetic gravity well to form within you, greatly altering both your perceptions and the actual things that transpire in the outer world. Thought forms have gravity. One thought can turn into another can turn into two more can turn into a barrage of ceaseless mental chatter. Left unchecked, that mental chatter could accelerate into a mental disorder and left unchecked that mental disorder could manifest itself biologically within the individual as an actual neurological configuration. (I’ll speak of that more later on – there are many more factors to that issue than just the summoning of it energetically.)
With Energetic gravity being spoken of, now would be a good time to go into magnetism. Energetic Gravity is what I consider the focus on the relationships of everything with focus on a singular pole of magnetism. The whole of magnetism is the correlation between the energies of two objects. They need not be localized in space/time or time/space. People know about celebrity because celebrity made a name for themselves, but the people had to be aware of the celebrity in the first place in order to understand that said celebrity was, in fact, “famous”. Two poles.
Thoughts, emotions, actions, rhythms, all of these have magnetic charge to them. On a subconscious level we are all aware of this… For all intents and purposes, from the individual point of view we are the center of the universe and everything comes to us. You are in your container and you will always be stuck where you are. Stuck may not be the correct word, because we are “stuck” in the middle of a crazy video game with the best graphics, sound, game play and plot ever invented. So, in order for the individual to get what they want while seated firmly exactly where they are at any given point in time/space, they must summon forth the utensils they need. We summoned a pencil in order to draw a smiley face earlier. Magnetism. We summon our food when we buy/prepare lunch. Magnetism. There are variables in the amount of energy we can use to summon the tools we summon. As stated before in the food example, we could buy lunch or prepare it. We could prepare it from groceries bought from the store or we could prepare it from plants grown by ourselves. We could plant the plants and ignore them except for the bare minimals, or we could deepen our symbiotic relationship. The amount of investment one can put in one mean is of a very, very large spectrum. But, in the end, the magnetic charge brings what we put out. Buy a salad from the grocery store or make a salad out of plants that you have invested a large amount of time and energy into. One of those two will be healthier for you.
Man, I can’t waaait to grow a garden.
Anyways, I grow tired of speaking of this. Ill write a little bit more at a later point in time. If you like what I wrote, cool. If you hate it, cool. If you have any wise things to tell me, I’d be more than happy to listen. Once again, these are just my thoughts – not absolute truths. Not that they are falsities either, but. Oh god, that’s a bunch of philosophizing for another day.
One cool thing about writing this is that maybe I wont have the urge to philosophize while talking to fellow human beings unless they really, really want to. Philosophical-ism can turn into such a wankfest sometimes.
