Here is also a 1971 television recording with Alan Watts walking in the mountains and talking about the limitations of technology and the problem of trying to keep track of an infinite universe with a single tracked mind.

this video is awesome...

I saw this a few months ago and for anyone thinking of watching this...i highly recommend it. I love how he says "live is wiggly". so simple but makes so much sense.

Thanks for posting it.

nice

Yes, yes, yes! "Basic initial mistake".

How fitting. And this was 1971? Boy, are we at a dead-end!

There is no me looking at you, there's only life beholding life.

Let's do some Conscious Sci-ence!

Gosh I love this!

Alan Watts is my mentor from the very first sharp pangs of cutting my wisdom teeth! I must have been five when this video was made. I have only known him since through the musty smell of forgotten books. Which I also love. Thank you for showing me the way to it.

PS

I got this link from an old Facebook friend a couple of few days ago:

It relates very well to my new experiences in the dynamics of raising kids here.

Also a huge fan

I tried taking a philosphy class in college, but it wasn't until I tuned into KPFK in Los Angeles that I was turned on to Watts. I've never turned him off. In fact, one of my favorite podcasts is the weekly Alan Watts podcast, 15 minutes of one of his many talks, and in the one I listened to last night, he was talking about the "squiggly" concept! How's that for synchronicity.

Anyway...thanks for this one. I can never get enough Watts.

I'm gonna go ahead and say..me too

I've watched this clip over and over.
What an amazing stream of consciousness!!

Ahhhhh Alan

Thank you for posting! Alan Watts is the man I turn to when I feel lost and hopeless about the world. His words melt into my psyche like hot soup on a cold winter's day. A few other Alan Watts' gems to explore:

"2012 is an inside job"

Alan Watts is one of a kind

I am very proud to say that I have read some of the the books and essay that Alan Watts wrote for the journal of the Buddhist Lodge in London. I am also happy that you have shared the video to us, his follower. I must say that Alan is one of the masters of philosophers and one of the best essay writers in the world. His research paper about Zen Buddhism are impressive and very cohesive. Thumbs up for him.
