Movin' on up, Movin' on out...

Just a quick update on my current situation:

1. I'm moving away from Miami, Florida. I've lived here for 4 1/2 years.

2. Next week I'm moving (temporarily) to Chicago.

3. I'm taking a three-week vacation in Europe in July. Warsaw, Berlin, Copenhagen, Reykjavik.

Create What Thou Wilt

This blog post is based on a comment I made here- (http://bit.ly/9xuomA) The blog post, by Judy Clement Wall, talks about Michael Chabon's thought that "Every work of art is one half of a secret handshake..." I believe that is a beautiful metaphor for the dedicated artist's intentions.

A Voyeuristic View on my Delusions

I posted this on Daily Kos in reply to someone who wrote a provocative post on "Quantum Tantra" and it's application to politics.Their point was, that from a very deep perspective, empathy and "merging opposites" might be the most powerful tool we have to change society.

Let's Get Religion and Science to Hook Up

At this present stage of the evolution of the collective human consciousness, religion serves as both a bridge and a barrier. Man justifies all manner of racism, bigotry, abuse, war, genocide, and environmental degredation with religion. Throughout Western society, the Abrahamic religions team with government bureaucracy and corporate greed to bring their dark visions into being.

The Future Is Not The Past

Lately, I've been hearing people talk about how "We need to rebuild the US so we can get back to where we were before the last decade." Some are looking at the 90's as a model of society to strive for. More than a few smart people have said President Obama shares that vision, especially in terms of the economic and regulatory environment.

About Me

Bio

I am a Midwesterner currently stuck in Miami, Florida. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and have also lived in Southern Illinois, Minneapolis Minnesota, and Cleveland Ohio. I'm a professional writer and creative person. I'm hoping to relocate to an area with cooler climate and more progressive culture sometime this year.

I've been studying enlightened thinkers and alternative spiritualities for 14 years now, and I've done all kinds of interesting stuff. My preferred methods of self-evolution are conceptual thinking, active meditation, trance dancing, and assorted techniques of magic.

For fun, I enjoy reading science fiction and playing video games.

Politics- Libertarian

Biggest Philosophical influences-Frank Herbert, Robert Anton Wilson

Personal Creative Style-I aim to be uplifting, thoughtful, and provocative. I'm also skilled at humor and satire.

Skills and talents
I am an award-winning advertising creative, and I've had one book published. I enjoy thinking, writing, philosophising, and seeding culture with inspiring memes. I would be more than happy to offer ideas and feedback to folks who would like advice on writing, branding, and communication. Please feel free to message me. I may not get back to you immediately but I will as soon as possible.
