The screens true value are in their individual and collective effect of forcing all those that look into them is to also look into themselves and to the world around them—I seem to be seeing all the brutality, greed, vanity, manipulation, cruelty, corruption, apathy, beliefs, violence, rape, suicide, death, and into the will, the desire, to continue it. And then there is that feeling—a shiver of collapse. Will it be the world collapsing or will it be our preservatives?
It seems to me that a telewakening will become our inevitable and with it: an unexpected revelation that was born from War of the Worlds and the Atomic Age and then raised on the War raised on Terror and the Information Age. And it seems to suggest a collective repulsion, a collective rejection, and the requirement of total love for our collective survival.
For what has been used historically as weapons against the mind and spirit of the species—images bearing (and bringing about) campaigns of total fear, total greed, total brutality, and total destruction—have actually become the very instrument which has taught the mind and spirit of humanity what it can not tolerate. What no being could tolerate. That the only option available for its survival is to become the total opposite of what it sees; the only way to escape total war, total fear, total death, and suicide is through total peace, total love, and life itself.
Images of unfathomable horror are driving us towards social, spiritual sanity.

TELEWAKENING
1. A notion relating to telecommunications technology and spiritual enlightenment. Conceptually, the idea that one of the inevitable outcomes of the telecommunications boom is a sensation of embedded interconnectedness. Furthermore, due to the saturation of human-wrought images and recordings of behaviors, norms, traditions, greed, neglect, suffering, cruelty and so on, human beings will be unable to remove their attention away from it; thus forcing individuals into a deep personal inquiry into the psychological models and attitudes that allow such behavior to take root propagate.
2. The act of mental self projection/extension via social technologies becoming so omnipresent that the demand for self-reflection into the very essence of that which has generated this projection becomes an uncontrollable urge.

From my personal point of view I would have to disagree to that which you conclude by all the violence, hate, brutality, etc that bombards the optic nerve of the majority of especially young minds, on the TV and Internet 24/7 all neatly enveloped into the category of `entertainment',
To my seeing of what is happening by such programming is a slow methodical eroding of that one principled ingredient that makes us human: EMPATHY.
All the harshness of our modern reality that is becoming increasing accepted as NORMAL, is causing people to become complacent with it and at the expense of the empathy one would normally feel toward another that is suffering. Granted on an individual basis one could counter this opinion but here, I am speaking from a general societal perspective as this is how these operations are contrived. One only need look at the influence of the Tea Party movement in the US, where a minority of the populace is having a majority impact on where that country is headed. It is the same maneuvering principles that apply for this subject of discussion.

I agree with you. Contrast improves visibility. When you see the results of empathy's absence, that's when you really understand how critically important it is. I also think the new communication technologies have accelerated this crisis of realisation.
