The Book of Patience.
…
My chest was burning like a torch. After a bout of very intense vomiting. I passed out for some time. When I opened my eyes, Taita Hugo was next to me whispering some words to me – “Embrace it, be strong, don’t give up.”
They offered to move my body closer to the firepit to get warm. I refused. I couldn’t feel my legs or arms. The pain in my body was unbearable. I felt more comfortable lying on the muddy ground, curled up.
Finally, someone propped me up to walk and I got close to the fire. While sitting there, I was still connected with the ancestors and had all kinds of visions of living creatures -- sea creatures such as dolphins and whales, and the animals from the North (bisons, wolves, caribous, eagles).
The ancestors said, “They need your help.”
The effects from the purging lasted for around six hours, then I went into a more calm state of mind. My body recovered gradually. The ancestors were still there with me.
“We want to show you another book from the library,” the ancestors said… and I saw a beautifully carved stone. It had a very delicate design of a footprint carved on the surface. As I contemplated the stone block, they said, “Stone carvings require mastery and tremendous patience.”
I then realized the stone block was part of an endless staircase that faded into infinity in both directions.
Patience is like a staircase made of carved stones. It requires great amounts of work, and every single step we take counts. Patience does not have an end.

very good
i really love the profound insights you shared with these little series. they might seem like only some nice words to the average person, but to someone that knows the experience, they are more than just nice words. they are really words from the book of life.
