I don't believe it to be an 'either/or' scenario. We are entities who have machines and computers as a part of our matrix, but you cannot reduce us to simply 'being machines'. That kind of reductive logic is, I believe, a fallacy.

I'm no atheist, but I've come to see this ever expanding system of information. That, perhaps life, or the cosmos is the advent of ever accumulating and interacting information.

From the bottom up DNA has managed to externalize a system of information and memory by means of creatures who have minds. These creatures (let's call them humans), have now begun to further externalize information and memory through the advent of computers. Even with out computers we as beings still exchange mass amounts of information.

What is the next level of information to be externalized?
