The Grace of Giving

Years ago I read somewhere that one of the beautiful facts about the Western interest in all things Eastern and Indigenous is that they have been embraced and integrated without any coercion or force from the sources. There were no overt campaigns of conversion, subliminal manipulations, or outright war. There simply continues to be a giving and sharing to those with open hearts and minds.
Gurus, artists and masters from the East began coming to American in the 1800s to teach those willing to listen and experience the truths for themselves. Those that weren't into it, that weren't ready to engage, were left alone. But the seekers among us were given regeneration through priceless books, lectures, practices, centers, art, music, ritual and more. We were allowed onto the land and into the heart of their being and culture, often with no questions asked. In the face of unspeakable atrocities, the Natives spread across this terrain we call our home have welcomed our interest into the the sacred center of their reality with integrity and compassion. We have so much to be grateful for.
We are reaping the fruit of a line of centuries old gifts to and from spirit. For those who seek with a curious and open heart, the opportunities and paths to the infinite are boundless. With fortitude, there is almost nothing modern humanity cannot access. At the same time, think of all you have been given, no strings attached, from dreams, visions, synchronicities and chance encounters, from the profound and sanctified that have shown their smiling faces in the most random of places. Gifts of being are to be found everywhere.
Have you not always been taken care of? Are you not still here, thriving? Are you not learning more everyday? Doesn't the regal, simple beauty of nature continue to blow you away? Aren't you in awe of unexpected expressions of kindness? For those who are paying attention, the miracles of life are displaying themselves in vibrant technicolor across our inner and outer worlds.
I am grateful to Evolver for creating a forum in which to connect with and share amongst fellow voyagers. Evolution is a gentle process and is to be nurtured with all of our resources. Out of the Western mind, the internet has emerged as a way of assisting in the expanding mural of consciousness. Free of cost, Evolver is here as a transmitter, doing its part to give back and keep the exchange flowing. I am grateful to have found a community I can be proud to be among.
