If you have never heard of TOOL give this song a try. The message of the song is apparently "Transcendance", they base the rhythm of the song and the lyrics on the Fibonacci sequence, and teach us to embrace the spiral the sequnce creates.

Tool Fibonacci lyrical syllable count fun
Let's have some Fibonacci lyrical syllable count fun. Listen and read along:
1 Black

2 White are
3 All I see
5 In my infancy
8 Red and yellow then came to be

Namaste
It is encoded on many
It is encoded on many different levels, I'm starting to think an infinite ways of viewing it. I think Listening to Tool lets you experience and internal fractal moment without the use of any drugs. Also this song is PURE ALCHEMY. Implosion.

Well its actually very rare
Well its actually very rare to have the experience I think. I have listened to it many of times but unless you have a new context it will look the same. New context doesn't come along all that often. You never know, you might just pick up the phone line to your own DNA sometime ;) Or phase conjugating the whole album as one is interesting.
Lateralus is above all Tool
Lateralus is above all Tool songs my favorite, but, my friend, you have not heard, or let me say, EXPERIENCED the song for it's actuality unless you have seen a live Tool performance (and in my case for my first trip on more than an eighth of some good shrooms)and dude..oh. my. god., i could FEEL the spiral as it continued outwards, i FELT every lyrics like Maynard was singing specifically to me, and they played every song that I was thinking right before they started it, I was, to say the LEAST, the closest to "god" I have ever felt. Throughout the entire show my friends and brother were laughing at me with one expression on my face, my jaw open wide with my hands over my mouth, either that or i was LAUGHING at the sheer STUPIDITY of the glory of what i was experiencing, and of course not to mention every colored lazers and projections right in my face! I was on the floor one row up not more than twenty feet from the stage. OH MY GOD. Let me know if you want to hear more so I'm not just rambling to myself. I have the entire show on bootleg, opening with Third Eye, and listening to it ALMOST puts me back at the venue with the FEEL of TOOL surrounding me. AHH akdjfaldf;ja;. So glad when i meet others who feel the same way that i do about their music. I was just thinking of posting a blog about the overall experience I gained and influence I get from their music, i'll have it up right away. Thanks for reading and keep listening to Tool.

Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position. Such a heavy burden now to be the One, born to bear and bring to all the details of our ending, to write it down for all the world to see. But I forgot my pen
listen to 46&2 which is my
listen to 46&2 which is my second favorite, if not my first, it's about how the human genome and DNA are going to evolve with consciousness as a whole, look it up. I was actually listening to some of the bootleg when i ran across this blog

In 9th
In 9th grade, I did a project on Fibonacci sequences, and I used this song as an example. It really is an incredible piece.
The song used to be called 7-8-9 because it changes from 7/4ths, to 8/4ths, to 9/4ths (for those who don't know, I am talking about time signatures).
Tool is really a great band. The Lateralus album in general is one of my first tastes into other-wordliness and spiritual themes (One-ness/Interconnectedness). I saw them 3 times on that tour, amazing visuals and artwork on stage, and their music is so enchanting.
I also highly recommend the song "Reflection" off the same album, and "Parabol/Parabola"..."Schism" too....fuck it, just listen to the album cover-to-cover. It's a journey.

Indeed sit down and listen
Indeed sit down and listen to EVERY album the entire way through or you have not listened to Tool at all! Lateralus is my favorite next to the earlier Ænima, and the newest 10,000 days is great also, a very much more mature sound, as was the tour this year, mature and full of spiritualistic value, they all know (Maynard Danny and Adam) a lot about spiritual awakening, and that is exactly one of their intentions within their music, even down to song that are straight forward without any hidden meaning such as hooker with a penis and Vicarious, but yes, they are ALL great songs. Just the beginning notes of lateralus or the patient, and pretty much every song, especially from my bootleg send goosebumps up my arms and back and i immediately enter a state of deep trance.
Did you see them on tour this year? I was completely mind fu%#ed, completely. I'm PRAYING that they are in fact writing a new album and touring next year, because i have to see them again.
Like Maynard said right before they played Ænema, "It's all gonna work out"
keep listening to Tool my friend and continuing down your own path

Indeed
and a great topic to invite commentary on... good to see the props flying as IMO Tool fans = good people. A die hard since 93 (practically OGT) it makes me laugh that I had no comprehension of the subject mater of many of their lyrics for years.
In addition to Lateralus, they broach a number of other esoteric/metaphysical topics with the same ferocity, ingenuity and spirit including (descriptions IMO)
Stinkfist – Unconscious addiction
Eulogy – The extinction of Ego
46 & 2 – Human evolution through comprehension of The Shadow
Aenima – The Apocalypse
Third Eye – Self explanatory
The Grudge – Alchemical & archetypal elements of negative experience
Parabol/Parabola – Eternal nature of Spirit
Lateralus – The mathematical, philosophical and kundalini aspects of evolution
Disposition/Reflection – Micro/macro aspects of evolving Humanity
All from Aenima and Lateralus, absolute masterpieces.
great re-cap of great songs,
great re-cap of great songs, they are made to be interpreted differently into the individual listener's personal experience of life, but all interpretations will represent the same basis for subject, some of their songs have multiple meanings while others have just one. Lateralus is Lateral-Us, along with the Fibonacci being a literal mathematical description of life itself, you could say, and of the universe, it's describing living in lateral time, which is time that is a bit different than how we now perceive it in the twenty first century, as a solar based measurement, lateral time is "real" time based on the actual movement of our star the sun as well as based upon the movement of the neighboring stars in our galaxy, for "time" as we know it is only the amount of distance it takes for light from any star, but particularly our sun in our mind's eye, to reach our planet earth, and lateral time is directly related to pi, or phi, pi describes the universe, i remember thinking that as a child but not being able to explain why.
thanks for reading. TOOL

Ironic
This past Sunday morning, believe it or not, I was going to post the lyrics only to this tune. I was going to title it "Sunday morning hymns". I know, HAHAHA, right.
Anyway, LIVE is a must. I was boomered to the max as this was performed live.
I witnessed the entire crowd merge into a single consciousness.
Everyone in the crowd, towards the end of the song, had single spirals coming from the tops of their heads . All of the single spirals melded together into a massive, single spiral that headed towards the heavens.
One of my best ones. Unforgettable. I was kinda sad when the 20 minute live version was over, but super connected and exhilarated at the same time .
