Religious Coincidence

(I don't claim to know much about any of the religions I bring up in this article, especially shamanism, I would just like to share my current understanding and odd connections I have found, with the little knowledge I do have)
The deeper I dive into the twisted world of religion and belief, the more connections I seem to find. I'm currently reading "Shamanism : Archaic techniques of ecstasy" and even where I least expected to find odd connections, I did. Shamanism is one of the most ancient belief structures that we know about. Shamanism has no defined area or country, it has been found in every corner of the globe from Eskimos in the northern arctic to the peoples of Asia and China. One of the deepest mysteries of shamanism I can't seem to narrow down is that almost all of the shamanic tribes that have been studied, no matter where in the world they are, seem to have the same basic belief structure, when many, if any, different tribes have ever been in contact.
One of the most striking coincidences I have come across is one of the earliest beliefs of many shamans, and that is the story of the "Great" or "First" Shaman. Apparently this first shaman, through all his practice and shamanizing, eventually achieved power rivaling that of gods. With this new found power the Great Shaman decided to challenge god (the story of how he did this is different depending on which tribe your talking about) Well he tried to challenge God and failed, thus god made it impossible for humans to directly enter that magical world of spirits and power, leaving it only possible, through ecstatic experiences such as pain, fasting, entheogens, whatever the case may be. I find two biblical stories that come to mind reading this story. The first is the fall of Lucifer which seems strikingly similar to the fall of the great shaman. Also, the banishment of Adam and Eve from Eden, which I see as God taking away the Great Shamans power to directly enter the world of magic and spirits. These could be coincidences, but, to me, they seem to be too closely related to easily pass off as coincidence. Another interesting connection I have found is the belief of the seven celestial planes of heaven. You say "OK? whats the significance?" Isn't it odd that we have seven chakras? Not only that but the shamans had corresponding colors to each of these seven planes which each also represented a planet. But I do not know if the colors did indeed match up to each other. During the Renaissance there were a large amount of artists drawing depictions of god with a rainbow encompassing him also made out of seven different colors. The more of these connections I seem to make, I keep forming this odd theory in my head. It is almost as if before true recorded history, there was one great belief structure that seemed to be believed by everyone and seemed very accurate, but something happened. Maybe it was triggered by the fall of Eden, or the fall of Lucifer, maybe they are one in the same, but it seems to me that for whatever reason this great belief structure broke up after a major event in our past and branched itself off into all of the smaller religions we have today. Almost as if each religion contains a key to the truth but it is surrounded by metaphorical myth and it is up to us to go through each religious structure, pick it apart, and find the underlying truth. This also leads me to the possibility that maybe there was previous united world civilizations living on earth before our time(just a thought)? Another interesting story found in many religions is the story of the prophet. A man who can perform great miracles and seem to have god like abilities. I have a current theory on the story of the prophet. It is said that god made us in his image. Like we are all smaller pictures of the whole, we are all holograms of god. If this is true then where is the limit? I truly believe the limit is the sky. There are, right now, people on this earth that can perform miraculous feats of healing, who can impale, dismember, and burn themselves and leave no damage or feel no pain whatsoever. People who have gone years without drinking or eating anything. And even a man who can materialize things out of thin air such as fruits, gold, jewelry, and other things (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sathya_Sai_Baba). Sai Baba is his name and he has been doing it for over fifty years. There have been hundreds of scientist, philosophers, and just curious people who have gone to India to see this first hand and try to debunk it. To this day nobody has ever succeeded. If it is possible to perform these miracles no matter where your from, or what you believe, than what these major religions are telling is far from the truth. I believe when Jesus told us to accept him and the kingdom of heaven shall be ours, I don't think he meant that we had to die to achieve it. I believe through belief and thought alone we can and do have the power that these "miracle workers" have. I think what happened was the powers that be saw the potential of Jesus and other prophets to be catalysts for control. I believe they took these spiritual beings and their messages and used it for their own, which happened to be direct, obedient control of the human population and to diminish all of the spiritual power we have through brainwashing. We already know that most of the stories in the bible were written years after they happened. Written by people who had a vested interest in human farming. If we knew our true potential, the world would be ours. The even funnier thing is that new experiments in the realm of quantum physics and cognitive science are proving just that. Our observation alone has the power to change physical matter. The West is finally coming to understand what many eastern religions have known for thousands of years. The aum symbol for example (A - physical matter ex. tree. U - nonphysical matter ex. air. M - Nonphysical and non detectable matter ex. antimatter) shows the unity of the most opposite things in our known universe. We were always taught that A is A and B is B, but the truth is They are truly one. The wave can be a particle and the particle can be a wave, and our observation of the world is what defines what it will be. As Mckenna has said "You have to transcend a closed logical structure. we have to live with the idea that there is no intellectual closure, this is the door marked freedom but we have been taught that it is the door marked madness. To live in the light of paradox. Things cannot be A and B at the same time, yet in the moment of direct experience it is in fact overcome. It lies in the moment, the act, in fact of being." What I believe he was trying to get across is that the unity of the two most opposites of the universe is what makes consciousness, its what makes us. Ancient Masters knew and that is where the Aum came from. We are literally a glitch in the system, a paradox. And I don't say that in a negative light. were not mistakes, we are unity of everything. Another idea I've had floating around in my cranium is the possibility of the noosphere. "we are building the nervous system of the human oversoul" I believe this "over soul" or "noosphere" is god. I also believe that Gaia knows exactly where we are going and it is her job to create the atmosphere and living conditions needed to sustain us. At one time botany was Gaia's main goal or "technology" if you will. Then it was dinosaurs. She saw how slow the process was so she exterminated most of them and through that extermination, evolution over jumped itself creating monkeys and something never before seen in the world of animals, conscious free human beings. While we continue are extremely fast mental evolution towards a culminating point in history, the rest of nature continues its slow tedious evolution. We seem to be favored by mother earth and she is trying her best( not to her own misfortune) to help us and show us the way. We look at god as what put us here in the past, but what if its the opposite. What if God is what were, collectively, destined to become. Like i said before, if were all smaller parts of the big picture, then together we are the picture, the picture frame, the ink, and the molecules and electricity that flow through it. We are God, We are one.
Thank you Terence Mckenna, Quantum Physics, and religion for helping me better understand the world we live in. Feel free to pick this apart and tell me where you think I went wrong or what your theory is. The more sides we hear the closer we get to knowing.

Great Post
I love this post because I love how you are thinking.....keep going and don't feel you need people to 'pick apart' your your steps on the journey ... just go with your gut and keep soaking up the information. You will probably find that new gems of info will come your way at a particularly apt or even synchronistic time but just let that reassure you that you are on the right path
Divine Matrix
I see your other post re Divine Matrix... i am reading it at the moment! I lost it twice and had to sort of start again and still have not finished...not sure why because I have really enjoyed it. Must let this little kick point me towards finishing it. Did you read it?
Dualism unites in pure being of awareness
Beautiful wandering through the whole process... I like it.
The strangest thing about all the formal religions is the more and more you wrap yourself in the mysteries, mystics writings and contemplating the divine the more you see the stories, myths are just teachings which guide us towards greater unity and wholeness.... This means that the mystics are the ancient shaman within the context of the formal religious traditions.
One of my favorite ideas to contemplate and to realize is the story of lucifer He is one of "light" for that is what his name means. What this archangeal said (in the story) to god was, how can you elevate man above all else and give him freedom? He was envious of this action by god... and in being envious, (trying to be something other than himself) he was thrown out to the outer reaches away from god. (the ultimate location to suffer from envy - aka hell!) Now what interested me about the story within the mystical traditions is this is a human drama... and as a result means that mankind thinks that he is closest to god (how selfish). In the mysticism of the story, to be that close to god one must go through lucifer... for he is the keeper of the brilliant light surrouding god... aka he is first servant of god... also known as Samael aka the devil... the first servant was to challenge the soul's final migration to god, to prepare it for the wonder and mystery of all that is... so really there was no fall, only to man's mind is there a fall away from god. Projecting that fall on Lucifer is part of the journey of the soul and the folly of man's ration. Lucifer serves god with the great light of being and freedom.... for without it we are weak souls. When we strengthen, the ultimate battle with lucifer is to release our selfish control of god and unite with the light and mystery of it all..... hummm Lucifer bringer of light to the dark parts of our soul... aka the first Shaman.... or at least same thing as shamanic work.
Our willingness to see beyond the duality that we create for ourselves is to understand the myths which we have inhereted from our ancestors in their original intent. And besides.... the ability to hold two opposing ideas in our heads at the same time, A and B, without choosing either as correct is often called the first spark of true awareness... the ultimate path of freedom is to see that if A and B are opposites, they are really joined in the ultimate one.
Thanks again for sharing your thinking......

That first community was called Atlantis
I have been finding similar correlations as well. when someone says the name Zeus what comes to mind? A big, bearded man in billowing robes on top of a mountain? Who else does that describe? Moses - mo-seus - mo Zeus.
Don't get me wrong, that's a pretty big reach but check out P. Manly Hall's 'the secret teachings of all ages'. he draws parallels between Jesus, Bacchus, Odin, Apollo, Mithra, etc. All were born of Virgins, considered the suns of God, healed the sick, crucified and came back, etc.
Give it a go
Yep the first part of the movie does a fast and furious illustration of Skwirly's point above and if you find it interesting I will find a book that I have somewhere and give you the name of it.
In fact watch the full movie and you can research with ease what is in it that you find interesting.
